Default Daul transducers on Helix 9 or 10?

Have read a lot about the quality issues of the DI on the helix units that use the SI beam to develop the DI image. Can I install a dedicated DI transducer for DI and the HSDI transducer for SI, switching between the two as needed? Don't know if image is created in the core unit or the transducer. Hope this makes sense to someone as I am not clear on exactly how these units generate images.

    Thanks in advance.

You can use a HB dedicated DI unit on a HB SI unit to get a somewhat better DI picture ...

Can I use the Down Imaging transducer with my Humminbird Side Imaging Unit?

It is still processed in the SI unit as a computer generated DI from SI ...

But because the piezo in the DI xducer is pointing straight down ...it will give stronger return echoes from targets directly under the boat ...

This is a brushpile using the stock XHS 9 HDSI 180 T with blended DI from SI ...

This is the exact same brushpile using the dedicated DI xducer XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...

You can also use this to switch between the DI xducer and the SI xducer ...

That Chart speed is an illusion ...

The Chart Speed was lower when the brushpile entered the screen on the right ...

I sped up the Chart speed after it was in view on the display to hurry it along before I snapped the pic ...

I wanted the Xpress menu showing in the snapshot ... But I missed the opportunity when the brushpile entered the screen ... And waiting until the structure got past the menu was taking too long ... So I sped up the Chart speed to get the displayed structure past the overlayed menu where I could snap the pic ...
