Good point kosmo .... I don't think I have seen it stated like that before. With the core units, the SI and DI are automatically disabled when viewing 360......It will probably be the same with the Helix.

Here's something to keep in mind,if choosing between the units. If your planning to use the 360 with a helix 10 unit. You will not be able to display 360 along with di.Using the 360 with the onix, you can display di along with the 360.using the helix 12,you will have chirp sonar (which should give a little better target separation and a slightly cleaner 2d screen, but still no di along with the 360. (Imo...this is a really big deal for crappie fishing.Because, while the 360 is really great for locating the structure and positioning your boat. The di is really handy for looking down in the structure to see individual fish. While chirp should help the helix 12's 2d.I still think the di is better) You can run the 360 in di mold,on the helix units, but you won't be able have 360/di running at the same time..... (here's picture,s of what 360,di and 2d look like, all running simultaneously .![]()

Watch this video that I made, using my 998 with a dedicated di transducer and the 360 running.Notice what happens switching views. The unit stops pinging the previous view, when switching to the other view. https://youtu.be/TgBt7hnIYyA (I believe that the helix series will do the same)
Great pictures and points!
Heres a little bit more info.contrary to all the information that I've read,on the internet. My personal experience with 360 on core units v. onix is the core unit has produced better results, for me.Actually, the si on my 998, has been better . (I'm fixing to move my onix transducer to the transom, but I've already tried my 998 at the trolling motor with better si results compared to onix ).
If anybody needs to know what bluegill or redear beds look like on side scan, check out the bottom photos Kosmo posted above. I have a lot of folks ask me to explain what they look like.
I don't think I've ever ran my SI in water that shallow.

KOMOS HOW DO THE BEDS ON SI SHOW U PASS THEM AND 360 SHOWS MOST U HAVE NOT GOT TO THEM,WHAT AM I MISSING![]()
God Demonstrated his love for us.Romans 5:8
The 360 shot shows the boat right in the middle of a bunch of beds ..... and shows you exactly where they are relative to the current boat position......The SI is showing the ones you have gone past and will generally show a sharper image than the 360.....depends on how much steering he is doing with the Si on the transducer.
