    Default Lowrance Gen 3?

    Hi,
Does the Low Gen 3 units require a seperate Chirp transducer to get chirp resoulution? Or is it built in to one of the transducers that come with it?

    thanks

Pretty sure it uses the 83/200 xducer. Chirp is built into head unit. If you get Structure Scan, Gen 3 comes with 2 xducers, the long metal bracket one for side scanning and down scan, and the traditional 83/200 one for 2D sonar and chirp. At least that's how mine was bundled.

Brett, from what I've read to get the most benefit of chirp you need to buy another transducer.
