Default Are there fish in these images?

My wife and I are new to boat fishing and all things electronic on a boat. On a recent trip to the lake we are trying to learn, we took these sonar recording with our HB 899 HD Si. At the time we saw nothing of interest and never stopped or wetted a line. Nothing about either image had us take an interest or jumped out at us.

After reading several of the recent threads with sonar images attached, I think we may have missed fish. We went back and reviewed our tracks and these two images made us wonder if we just passed by fish without knowing.

In both images the boat speed was 3 MPH with the screen scroll matched at 3. Si was on 455 setting at the time of the recording.

In this image the depth is between 10-20 feet. A bass boat had just made a high speed run past us.

In this image the depth is between 15- 20 feet.

I am just now learning how to do recordings and use Humviewer and I will freely admit that I have no confidence in my ability to interpret sonar returns, so as a by-product I have zero confidence in what the sonar is showing me. For both of these images, my wife and I saw lots of rocks.
Do you guys see anything that would have had you take notice?

Lastly the only way I know to post a sonar image is to use the Print screen while in Humviewer, then paste to paint and save as a JPEG, then upload to photobucket. Is there a better way?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
    Dennis

I can't zoom enough on the images to be sure, but none jump out. Fish are often distinguished by the object being disconnected from its shadow. Almost dead center on the left side of the boat in the second image are a couple of shadows that make me think they could be fish, and then just ahead on the right is a cloud that could be shad or prop wash. Just can't see the images well enough to tell.

To export snapshots out of HV ...

    *Click "File" ...
    *Click "Save Snapshot" ...
*Make selection in "Choose to hide GPS position" popup window ...
*Save window popup should now show ...
*Change "Save in:" field to address you want snapshot saved to ...
*Enter your choice in "File Name" field ...
*Change "Files of type" to "PNG image files" ...
    *Click "Save" button ...
*Click "OK" in "Image saved" popup ...

Locate the .png you just created and upload into Photobucket or directly into the forum with the "Attachment" tool provided in your "new message" pane while creating a post ...

I would also suggest playing back your HB recording on the unit itself and create snapshots right from the recording playback ...

Then transfer those snapshots from the SD Card to your PC ...

Upload those snapshot .Png files into PhotoBucket or directly into the forum using the "Attachment" tool in the "New message" pane while creating a post ...

Sometimes it's easier to pick out smaller details from the HB snapshot than from the HV snapshot ...

HV stinks. Take screenshots through the unit while on the water.

My eyes don't like the blue color pallet, but.......In the first image, there is a bait ball on the edge of the channel that you went almost directly over ....it was a little off to the right. There also appears to be a school of some kind of fish dead center in the channel in the right SI water column.

In the second image, there appears to be a school of fish almost on top of the hump just to the right of the boat path.

If you if you see something interesting, mark a waypoint.... reduce the range .... try to scan it slightly to one side of the waypoint....crank the scroll speed up about twice what you normally run it.....turn off the other side of the SI, and the image will be a lot larger, and any fish will be a lot larger and easier to see.
Also, learn to use the zoom function to take a closer look at something interesting.

If you turn the SI enhance to low, the image will start to appear more grainy, but the fish will also pop out better.
