Thread: Will HDI transducer work on HDS unit?

I have an Elite5 HDI on my trolling motor. I'm wanting to know if the transducer Will work with an HDS unit? I googled some discussions but they were all older threads and didn't lead to a definite answer. So anyone with expertise on this subject I would appreciate your info!

I know for a fact that the transducer for the Elite 7 HDI will work on the HDS7 touch screen because Lowrance swapped me out one. Everything from the Elite 7 was a shoe in for the touchscreen. They did not offer the regular HDS instead of the touchscreen so I don't know if will also work.
Their comment was the HDS7 touch would swap out on the Elite7 mount and transducer so that is what I did.

With an HDI transducer, your 2D sonar should work on any HDS unit but you won't get the down scan unless it's on a touch or Elite HDI unit... Brian

Good deal because I'm getting a touch unit and I'd like to be able to transfer the unit to the TM for electric only lakes that I fish. Thanks buddy!

I just went thru this. Got help here in fact. Just pick the HDI transducer from the sonar install menu screen. You will see it in the menu.
