Not saying you don't get a good picture. I just don't think the 50/200khz down / or side view would be as good as your going to get with the 455/800khs picture. Might want to ask Rickie as he has a lot of know how on this subject. Just looks like the Garmin is going to cost twice as much as the HB or Lowrance would cost to get the 455/800 khz image.

Check this out on BBG Marine. Description says you get everything you need.
I tell u all this electronics stuff is enough to make a guys head spin. So it's my understanding that the higher the khz that means more power and a better picture?
The 73SV or 93SV comes with the GT-40 Transducer its all in one has 77/200 for 2D and 455 for SV and DV it has dedicated down image crystal not like the Hbird where it combine's the SI for the DV . there is no box to buy unless you get a 70S or 70 dv
This is the Transducer it comes with its actually a chirp transducer but the 73SV or 93SV dont support the chirp function

That ad and the one at Bass Pro both say it comes with the 77/200 khz transducer. Don't believe the hi def 455/800 khz comes with it. Its extra but I have been know to be wrong many times.
That ad is wrong it comes with SI and DI I just purchased a 93SV and a 73DV and it def has SI .The models you have to add the box to is the 70S ,70DV,840X,1040X and the higher models if you look at the description you just provided it says ( Includes 77/200 kHz HD-ID/Downü/SideVu transducer in the box)
The 93SV and 73SV just dont support the chirp function even though its a chirp transducer but it is a all in one Transducer DI/SI/2D its big though 8 1/4 inches long
Call Brian at BBG he will tell ya the same thing the AD is just worded funny
