999 and 1199 83 khz issue

Does anyone know if HB got the 83 Khz issues resolved in the 899,999,1199 series units? I'm kinda at a cross roads with my current setup.

Last I heard is that they "think" the fix is to use the dual beam setting for the transducer to get better 2D......Problem with that is that there is not way to do a 2D / SI split.
Everyone who is unhappy with this needs to call customer service and bug them for a real fix. I think they are going to leave it the way it is unless they get a LOT of pressure.

Hotrodsrx, what other problems are you having? I'm interested because my wife and I have ordered a 999 and an 1199 for our boat. I'm starting to wonder if we've made a mistake.

I'm currently running a 898c SI and a 859c HD. They both worked great until I started adding accessories and had to update software to support those features (Heading Sensor, I Pilot Link etc.) Since then my 2D has become "very pixelated" on both units. On a recent trip this last fall to northern Minnesota my 898 would randomly get rainbow looking lines across the screen. This was with 7.09 software. After this happened several times I got tired of it. Luckily, I had version 6.49 software with me and I loaded it and never had any more trouble. I took screen shots of what was happening and e-mailed them to HB customer support and haven't received any help. I will say the SI with the 7.09 software did appear to be more crisp.

I spoke with a member on here that I have used as a guide a couple times. He recently bought a new boat and has a 1199 SI and a 859DI and he loves them. He fishes multiple times a week so I know he isn't going to use something that doesn't work.
