Try your contrast in the 55-62 range and take the range out of auto. I normally run the side scan 2-3X the depth. The thermocline shows up well in a couple of those shots.

I just purchased a Lowrance HDS7 Touch with Down/Side Imaging LSS 2 and would like any suggestions on settings and your interpretations on what you see in these shots. The shots were taken under a bridge on Jackson Lake in Georgia. The first shot is part of the old bridge structure and I was able to catch a spotted bass trolling through that area. The second and third shots are of the new bridge structure. I was able to catch a crappie between the piers. I think those are Crappie holding between the piers? The left side image in the second shot is darker due to the outboard????? When I raised the motor the left side image got lighter. This is all new to me so any suggestions on tweaking to improve quality or other suggestions is appreciated. Thanks.

Do you think those are crappie between the piers in the bottom right side scan shot? Any more setting suggestions? I'm liking this thing so far. Thank you.
I do think those could be crappie between the piers.
