Thanks BobB, I havent seen those before. Im new to this SI stuff. I do have the unit set to 455khz. Now its just tweaking the unit.

All the forums and info I read on the SI is that it helps find structure very well. That is where the fish hold so it is obvious to mark and fish those spots. From what I have seen the DI gives the better fish finding capabilities once you locate the structure from SI.
I have not seen very many SI shots with fish holding around the structure. I assume it is from the signal of the transducer hitting solid objects and building that image to display. The fish are just too small sometimes to register for this technology.
I will be buying a 899C SI when I get the money together and I will test it out for sure and post what I find!
here is one i took when i first started. this was a floating dock and you can see the floats from the pontoon boats and all the brush under it. some fish and bait can be seen and the grainy shot was from having sharpness on low. hope it helps.

I don't understand why they don't show up as well under the docks. This was only a few feet shallower with a sunken boat and the crappie were stacked on it. Only difference was in open water.
