    Default LSS 2 Transducer install

I'm slowly getting this bundle of stuff installed and am wondering about the transducers. Thinking of installing the large SS transducer outboard of the high speed skimmer is that good or bad? How close should they be from each other? The book says about 12" is it better to have them closer or try to keep them about 10" since I have a star board mount plate that is 12". It looks like the lower unit will block some of the signal from the long SS transducer, are you guys having any issues with that?

I made sure to install Sidescan lower than the other transducer so I did not get interference. I have an older tracker 175 with a little shelf that protects it well and gets it further from the engine.

I think the 12" stated in the manual is so that the "Overlay" feature will work correctly...

Other than that...there is no right or wrong on distance between the 2 xducers...

install one on port and the other on starboard side. U wont have any problems. Here is a picture of my set up. This is on a bay boat. If you install them nx to each other make sure the transducer is above the lss2. Name: uploadfromtaptalk1394641794832.jpg

you might have to trim motor up a little to not block the view.

Thanks guys. I used it for the first time today and it did not seem to matter that the lower unit blocks some of the LSS transducer.

Size: 57.9 KBThis is how I installed my ducers and the results. frontierman, you might want to raise your SS2 to 'skimmer' level. Your mounting seems very dangerous to damage. I'd at least reverse it so there is less turbulence over it. <*)}}}><

The skimmer is just about in line with the bottom of the step.
No problems thus far With the lss2.
