Question on 998C gps

ok, just got the new gps puck for the hummingbird products........latest version.....hooked up to my 2 year old 998C and no recognition of the GPS....on pontoon at slip 35 miles from the house. Software on 998 is two years old.....start by updating software..or looking at the wire/connections of the puck and wiring....

I need to mention it is 25 degrees and the wind is blowing 20 miles an hour.....

Best guess software or wiring?

Heading sensor antenna definitely needs the latest software.

Like Shellback mentioned...latest version...(at least 6.570 or higher for AS GPS HS antenna)...

But, believe me you don't want 6.570...use a version higher than that...
