859ci HD DI Combo will have internal antenna, "reportably" a faster processor, and the Ethernet connection is in the cable collector...(making it necessary to use the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable if the unit will be networked)...

Some installations would benefit from the internal antenna by not having to mount an external antenna...(if this is your case...the 859ci HD DI combo might be a good idea...save $120)...

Some installations would need to install an added external antenna which would put the $$ close to even....(if this is your case...you would just need to decide if you think the faster processor is desirable)......

If you are wanting better DI on the bow ...the DI series (x58 DI OR x59 DI)....will give better DI than the "DI from SI" in the x98 SI or x99 SI series...

Any of the HB units above the 700 HD series (excluding ION and ONIX)...can be networked...
*Waypoints, routes, tracks can be shared
*Like sonar types can be shared...(see here for description ... http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/in...p?topic=2052.0)

Some will require the AS EC QDE adapter cable because of how the sockets are on the back of the head units...

Ok I need some opinions on these am I better with a 898 hd for around 850 on the bow or a 859 hd di for $700 bucks , which would be better bang for my bucks. and will the 998 hd I have interchange from the back mount on the bow if I go with the 898 hd , in other words can I move the 2 units back and forth.

The 898 would interchange with the 998 no problem. Question is, do you want or need SI on bow? Don't know why you would want to swap them back and forth. If you decide to link together it would be easier with the 898.
If it was me I would save the money get the 859 with internal GPS and Straight DI for the bow. If it ever becomes necessary you could still link them.

The 859 is the way I was leaning but for the small difference in price I really wasn't sure.
