Default HB 598 Side/Down Imaging Problems

Hi Guys Just bought a 598 hd been out a few times and have noticed the depth is jumping up and down say it is 6' actual it will be jumping from 6' to 300' and anywhere in between. The one on the trolling motor is steady at 6' no jumping also have noticed the d2 screen regular fish finder screen is in red and blue and does not show any fish with the fish id on. Thanks Cub48

Are you running both units at the same time...??

If so, turn the sonar off in the 1 you are not looking at and try again...??

Is the issue just on 1 unit and not the other...??

If so, turn on/up the "Noise Filter" in the unit showing the issue and try again..??

Keep us informed as to your progress...it may help others too...

Just on the one at the console. Had a 596 hd there before it worked perfect. Did have both units on. I am thinking it is the transducer as the 2d is not working right either. The color is just red and blue don't have any orange or green in it not showing any fish up either.

I would first test by turning the other unit off...

It could just simply be cross-talk interference...

If that doesn't work ... Make sure all other electronics are off and turn them on 1 at a time to see if the issue is coming from something else...aerator pump, VHF radio, lights, etc ...

Sometimes tracking down interference is just a process of elimination until the cause is determined...

I leave the unit on then turn my sonar off on the unit I am not using. That way when I get ready to use it I won't have to wait for it to reboot. Just turn sonar back on and you are ready to go. Press "on" button to find sonar "off". Saves battery also.
