    Default Another Toy

I have always enjoyed fishing small lakes and ponds from a jon boat or sneak boat. I had been eyeing a little boat that a guy had by his shed next to his house at Santee. I finally asked him if he wanted to sell it and he did so now I have another toy to play with. I fish a 100 acre pond nearby that is electric motor only so this is perfect for it. I am planning to get an extra base plate so I can move my Terrova to it when I use it. I have a hand control motor with digital speed control that I can use, but the Terrova has spoiled me and with the quick release mount, it would take all of 1 minute to move it to the little boat.
I have a 16.5 foot Tracker that I use on the lakes, but I did not realize until I got this boat that it is also a Tracker, it is the Sunfish model.
I have about as much fun, rigging up a boat as I do fishing.
Here a couple of pics of it when I brought it home.

That will be the ticket for fishing your 100 acre pond!!!! Slap that terrova on there and it'll be a caddilac. Slime her up soon!

Ray that is a nice little setup. I have looked at the boats like that for fishing small water but the prices have kept me away from them. I do believe you will enjoy many days of fishing out of it and with the I-Pilot it will be sweet! Congrats on the fine.

I would use the hand control TM on that boat, moving the Terrova back & forth will or would get old pretty quick imo. You already have it, so use it and make it easy on yourself.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Well I tried it out with the hand control motor yesterday and I am completely spoiled by the I-Pilot. The wind was blowing and I was constantly fooling with the TM to keep control.

Actually the I-Pilot is easier to put on than the other one. I have the quick release bracket on mine and it takes all of 10 seconds to pull it off and by some miracle the built in TM plug on the little boat matches the i-Pilot. So all I do is pull the pin out, unplug it and put on the other boat and plug in it, takes just as second to do.
Also I leave the boat at the Pond so I have to take the motor on and off each time anyway.

Nice little rig. I use to have one similar to that at one point. It had a small 5 HP Yamaha on it, I believe.
