2007 Super Derby

We had a great time out fishing this mornings super derby with Mike from Little Creek Lodge and Jeff from West Shore Waterfowlers and Capt. Chuck and myself. We finally remembered the chicken a care package from Kathy was a fine combination.
We went back to the wreck were we piled the fish up the night before only to pick up a quick 3 fish and have things die off for us. We pushed north and finally ran north to the nuke plant where we received the hot tip there was alot of action in 40 feet of water, as it goes when we got there things shut off and we moved again out deep. We picked up a couple of fish out there, even one that was talking on a cell phone, a little inside joke for the boat that called us to come out there that lost his phone overboard in the process of the call. I did manage to pull a Ted and after 15 minutes of fighting a nice king, only to have it jump out of the water about 50 feet from the boat a throw the hooks. Probably not big enough to get us in the money any way. The upside to the story is the 4th place over all coho we boated that morning, with the 8.3 lb fish taking 4th and 8.5 taking first if we only had been able to get the fish in before it lost some weight in the cooler it might have won the coho division. There's always next year
