We chose wisely and cancelled our trips for the weekend. Fridays shakedown run was brief after powering out to 60 feet in 3 foot of chop with chilling winds we found 39 degree water and set up 4 riggers and pulled them quickly when we ran out of cloths to put on and our teeth were chattering. The forcast of lightening and rain was enough, but the actual winds and 4-5 foot waves for most of the weekend out deep, and not to mention the thick fog kept us tied up at the dock. A couple of boats fished in close with little to no action, but one tournament boat did tough out the high seas and found some king and coho action out deep, but they could only hold on for 3 hours before returning to shore. Better weather is ahead and it looks like we will time it right for some deep water coho action.
