Min-O-Mizer

if you were to use the 120v adaptor to leave plugged in for long period of times do think the mino-mizer would last.looking to have something to keep minnows in between fishing trips,sometime may be a week or more

I just ordered one with the 12 volt adaptor, so I don't know about the life span, but I bought a pretty decent aquarium pump for less than $20 and it is designed to run constantly so that is what I use if I need to keep them alive at home. I have a 120 to 12 volt converter, but over time it will generate heat so I don't like to run it for extended periods.

I keep my minomizer attached to a AC adapter which is from a D-LINK Model JTA0302B computer router. The input voltage is 120 V 0.5AMP. Output is 5.0 V DC 2.5A.
The minomizer is designed to be supplied with 6 V DC, but 5 V DC works just as well.

The motor is submerged in the water, so should have a heat problem.
I keep mine running 24/7 for several weeks, until the minnows die or used up. :banghead

I got snookered by Mother Nature. My order for the Mino was shipped on 2/12 with expected delivery on 2/14. We got hit by 3 days of ice and snow so it is not here yet(2/16), and Monday is a postal holiday so may be Tuesday the 18th before it arrives. Hope so, I need it before Thursday for a C.C get together.

Here is the minnow bucket I use, it is a six gallon bucket lined with insulation. I use the Super Bubbles areator which is quite and economical. We often spend three days with the areator running continuously off my boat start battery. We also keep one large cooler with minnows and another Super Bubbles areator on 110V on shore where we are staying. We used to get the buckets at Academy, but they quit carrying them. The mfg name on the bottom is ROPAK NRC-075.

Not cheap, but works great for transport.

I have the Weston Minnow Vat for long term storage at home (or when camping).......but can't find a replacement aerator. Had a thread on this, but no replies.

Anyone get their Mino-Mizer yet? Any reviews?

I got one several a few months ago after seeing it on here. I got the 6/12 volt reducer also and run it off my boat battery. I really like it. It is much quieter than any other kind I've used. Matter of fact I thought it was not running one day until I put my hand beside it and I could feel the water misting out of it.
I got a 6 volt lantern battery also to use when fishing with someone if their boat does not have a 12 volt plug. Uses very little current.
Also the concern I had about the size interferring with sticking the dip net in to get a minnow turned out not to be an issue. Plenty of room to slip the net in and get one out.

im with you .. i have the double line pump and it runs for days and ive trashed all my other battery opperated junk.. minn o mizer included
