That's true.Two very differant animals.I like mine better,lol.
I checked on them just now and about 22 hours later they still are not trying to climb out. They are still just under the surface working like crazy. I guess they are finding something to eat. I will probably feed them late this afternoon.
When I put this bedding together I had mixed in a bit of shredded newspaper down six or eight inches deep . I guess I need to think about putting some more throughout the bedding? The bedding is still cooler than it has been this afternoon and it is fairly warm outside.
I hope to try to catch some fish with some of them this weekend.
Things are looking up.
Sounds like you are making some headway.Good deal.Mine tear thar shredded newspaper up.
As I stir I am seeing some of the paper that was put in a couple of weeks ago. It is getting pretty ragged around the edges. Does this mean the worms are eating it? How do they do if they just have paper to eat? The Purina Chow is not that expensive and I want them to grow as large and fast as possible even if I have to give some of them away. Also, two of my cousins have small worm beds and I really want mine to be better, if you know what I mean.
I would also like to make a bed for my brother out of one of the 40 quart boxes. Go ahead and stock it fairly heavy and give him enough "Chow" to keep them fed. I think he would like that.
This is what he and I plan to feed them to:

I only got to go once this spring before my back started acting up. I am working toward having plenty of bait for next spring. Also I am beginning to enjoy playing around with these worms. My wife thinks I have lost my mind.
I made these three knives last week so I would have something new to clean fish with if I can get back out there. already tried one of them on some catfish that my wife caught.

I want one too. I am going fishing in September. That would make a really nice gift. Congrats on getting your worm beds just right.
I think we are getting there. I had about a dozen would be "escapees" between the two boxes this morning.
Check your PM's dang it,lol.
Well after two days it all went downhill. Yesterday and today this is what I found when I checked the ranch.
