One of the best times i have had was when we were night fishing for crappie, i tried leftover wax worms from
a reelfoot lake trip, caught a lot of bluegill, a few crappie hit them but not many. First time i ever caught any significant amout of bluegill at night under the lights.
The gills and other sunfish will eat anything with a hook in it. i can go up to the marina on gibson and get tired of having to take the fish off the hook in 5 minutes
what is the best way to keep wax worms? and what kind of bedding? thanks bobber down
Sawdust and keep them cool-not cold. It kills them if they get too cold. We use a lot of them here in Michigan. I buy them a tub at a time. A tub is 750, we use them ice fishing all winter, and use them all summer. They should be in some kind of bedding when you get them.
If you buy quanity, just take along what you think you'll need.If they croak you won't loose them all.During winter, keep them in a warm pocket.
It's also important to remove the dead ones from any container (the black ones) or the rest will croak quicker.
do you every fish for bluegill at night? bobber down
