I have a boat, don't feel sorry for me
I wanted to share a project I am staring to work on.
I have had this boat for about 3 years and it has sat in this spot since the day I bought it.
The motor ran when I first bought it but I ran it out of gas and the carb was acting up.
Well, after getting out on the water with some of you who were gracious enough to put me on the fish, I decided to get off my lazy butt and get this boat in the water.
Today, I tackled the carb problem and got the motor running really good. It is a 1960 Sea King 35 hp.
The boat is a 1960 Lonestar it looks cool with the Tail Fins!
Here is my to-do list, if any of you have any suggestions I'm ready for them:

Trailer registered!! I'm legal to hit the water!!
Got the trailer registered today, now everything is legal.
Going to Maple Leaf when the wife gets home !!!
I'll let ya all know if it will float!!
Rug Rat maiden voyage Good news/Bad news
Well, it was fun to take my boat out for the first time. It floats, the motor run pretty good, thats the good news.
The bad news is my "to-do" list got longer. The motor needs the bushings that mount the top to the bottom of the motor together, it shakes terribly, I didn't notice it when I was running it in the yard with the cover off, but it is so sloppy the insides clack against the cover:(
My repair job didn't work with the cables, so I need to replace them so I can drive it from the front. It worked ok by using it like a tiller motor, but it is a real PITA:mad:
Also, there is oil coming from 3 holes in the bottom of the upper part of the motor that look like they should have bolts in them. I assume the oil is coming from the exhaust some how:confused::confused:
All in all it is going to be ok, I am staying home this weekend to get some of these things fixed and maybe get that beautiful dark blue paint on it. And of course, all the trim and lettering is going to be in that bold redish orange:cool:
Oh yea, I didn't catch any fish "Slayer !! I need some advice on Maple Leaf please!!"

Manual trolling motor and depth finder installed
Ok, now I have my manual trolling motor and depth finder installed. Allot of the MDC lakes here are "Electric only", I suppose a manual type would be ok as long as it isn't gasoline powered:cool:
This anchor came with the boat! Score!! what a deal I got !! I did have to buy the rope:D
Good Luck On The Trolling Motor

Yea their tough in the wind. I paddled sideways until I got to a spot I wanted to try, got anchored, cast a few times then you know what happened next, Kaboommmm rumble rumble rumble.... I didn't see the lightning, but I wasn't taking any chances, so I pulled the anchor and the wind was blowing cross ways from where the "ramp" (its a gravel hill shallow enough slope to put in), so I drifted and paddled to the handicap accessible dock to wait it out. It wasn't bad fishing on a covered dock until the school bus unloaded 20 middle schoolers and the teacher and they invaded the dock:eek::eek:
The electric trolling motor is coming soon, can't be sooner for me :D
Sorry so winded, Quinn
