Hey Chris: Whichever lake, whatever day, you'll have to tell me how to get there from here. I think I know Greers is off of US 65, but I have no idea about Peckerwood. I've known a few perkerwoods in my day though.
BTW, the web owner loved the nightstalk article.
If it goes as the vote, I will be at the beach. Not many crappie down there. I will hate to miss it.
I was going to give ceb a really nice moving present. :)
he creek slick, if we get up there on Greer's and I AM able to make it, I might have to get some pointers on this trolling bandits from you :D
Think we should go ahead and call it?
This will be new found water...really. I've never fished Greers, so I will probably have to call on one of the regulars to help organize it. A place to have a fish fry and gathering will be needed, but I have no idea where it could be.
And here's another idea...what if we go ahead and have a gathering at Peckerwood on June 6...then also the gathering June 13 at Greers. I will have plenty of fishing to get out of my system before work starts, so the way I see it...the more the better! That way anybody who wants to come to either can...or both if you're so inclined and able! The Peckerwood gathering would be more of a mini-gathering...with the official one being at Greers the following weekend. What do y'all think about that?
I should be able to make the June 6 also, I will have to go into work and take care of a few things, but I should be able to get there by mid morning, and maybe catch a few. Right now Red Barn is under water (from what I hear) would have to do it at Herman's landing nless they get opened back up by then.
I am not real familiar with Greer's except I went out of Choctaw a couple of times for white bass.
Assuming the monsoon season is almost over, Red Barn should be back to working order by June 6...or at least I would hope so. Only problem I can foresee is that the farmers won't be dropping the water level so quickly since they already have more water than they need.
I'm in the same boat with Greers. I have no idea which ramp would be best to meet-up, cook food, and so forth.
I think Choctaw or Sugarloaf would be the easiest for folks driving in to get to. Creekslick can chime in but I'm thinking Sugarloaf might not be too bad for him and others on his side of the lake to get to by boat and be almost as close as Choctaw for folks driving in from the south.....Hey Ceb....I have a little free time right now, if you want to we could get together and prefish it and I'll show you what I know about both places and maybe it would be easier for you to decide where the best place might be. Just let me know...anyway that's my 2 cents worth on Greer's.
I can't speak for the other guys over this way but either one will be fine with me. I will probally drive my pontoon over there.
Choctaw would probably be more accessable for everyone and there is plenty of parking as well as sites available for get together.
Dont forget about Mill Creek camping there is free!
Time to start getting things organized...
Which ramp do we want to use for Greers June 13?
Devel's Fork is a good ramp, and should be fairly central to everybody.
I agree with Rockmike, Devils Fork has a good ramp and lots of parking, they also have a tournament facility "might be a good gathering spot?"
Sugar Loaf is between Mill creek, Devils Fork, and Choctaw and would allow people to fish any one of those areas they prefer. We probably should make a list of who's attending and where they are coming from to decide what will be the most convenient location for the most people. ....Just a suggestion.....I'll be coming up hwy. 65 from Greenbrier.
Can somebody point out these locations on google map - I'm only familiar with the Narrows.
Thanks,
Here is a map with all the camp grounds.

CEB, Please keep me informed on the peckerwood gathering. I will be working that day...but would love to swing by and meet a few of the guys, and maybe wet a hook that evening. Thanks.
BTW....Bring lots of Off or a Thermacell if you decide to do anything at peckerwood June!
I'm alil confused still:confused:(and That's Not Uncommon For Me) Times? Locations? Which Ramps? So far we got June 6th at PW and June 13 at Greers. CP
We need to decide which ramp and times if we are going to do this. Are we just going to fish or are we going to fish and cook? Let hear some input.
I don't have any fish to cook. But, I remember how and can bring my stuff. Or, I have a Webber grill that breaks down handy and we can do some burgers and brats.

Now that I have an idea of ramps and such, I will get a post together early next week (hopefully I will have internet on by then) detailing times, ramp, eating, etc...
And the Peckerwood mini-gathering (June 6) will be pretty simply just getting together and fishing. We can go ahead and cook some fish if needed/wanted.
I will not be able to make the peckerwood gathering. is the gathering on Greer's still on?? This post sort of died.

I thought I would be going to Peckerwood tomorrow, but boss informed me this morning, I have weekend duty at the farm. So I could possibly get out there by noon, but think I will go back home after work, and try to get the wife on Old River or Bear SKin instead. Sorry guys, and good luck to you.

Sorry guys...I apparently spoke too soon. Haven't had the time to get anything organized, and certainly haven't had the time to fish. Hope I can meet up with all my Central AR buddies again soon. Y'all be sure to leave me a few!
