I think this will be great and if the weather is good, I am planning on being there.
Tony
crappiepappy - Unfortunately that's the same date as UFC 97 or I would have certainly tried to make it. Would be a long day . I'm a MMA Fight nut and already paid for the PPV Event.
I have a little gal turning 10 that weekend so I will be land bound all weekend long. Hope you all have a good time.
We are going to try to make it to Green River for the April 18 event. That's just 2 weeks before the Taylorsville meet-up, so I'm not sure that we'll make it for both events. I'm worried that a lot of other people might be in the same situation, and thus we'll split the crowd in that half will come to GRL and half to T-ville. But I'm OK with that--I'm looking forward to meeting some of y'all from here, and if it's just a few people to fish and hang out with, that's fine with me. I hope everyone can make at least one of the two upcoming events.
as long as I'm still breathin'! :D I'm 'bout to go nuts not being able to get on the water. By the way, I'm pulling the foot control trolling motor off of my ProCrappie 175 and putting a hand control in its place. Anybody know anyone that could use it (5 y.o. Motorguide 4300 - 40 lbs. thrust) it'll go really cheap. It works just fine, just takes up too much room in the front of the boat.
Far as I know, I'll be there!!
Wont be able to make this one guys, scheduled to work 24hrs on the fire department that day, wish I could make it. I hope you guys have better luck then I did yesterday. Fished all day on Green River Lake and caught 15 TINY, 7 inches or less crappie and 1, 13 crappie. Cedar Creek crappie look huge compared to these fish. Fished up in Casey creek, put in at Holmes Bend.
Let's see what we got goin on here :

I'll add more names as the members commit.
We will meet at the Lone Valley(State Park) Campground ramp/parking area. I'm thinking that, by the time we get together, they should be on the banks in that area. Everyone should try and get there in time to take off by 8AM (local time), so try and be there earlier so we can meet & greet for awhile, before heading out to fish.
I'm thinking that around Noon, or maybe 2PM (we can decide before we blast off) ... we could all meet somewhere, to share what we've done up to that point, and put people on the right track that may not be having much success.
IF it's going to be raining or storming (again :( ) ... I won't be coming.
There won't be any cookout, so BYOF&D :p

Crappiepappy,
I have a guided trip that day so I willing be going out of Holmes bend.I wish everyone good luck. The fish have really been scattered the last few weeks and the bite has been very light.

Sorry 'bout the delay.:o

are we looking at with the state park ramp? Not that i really mind, but another hour's sleep is another hour's sleep. :D
State Park Ramp is Eastern Time. (Same time as in London) Sorry - no extra sleep for ya this time!!!! :( The Crappie at State Park are on Eastern Time too, so they get up an hour earlier as well :D
Campbellsville Fishing Reports and Fishing Forecasts - weather.com
(Click on Next Day, until you reach Saturday's Fishing Forecast)
... it looks like daylight is around 7AM (their time) ... peak fishing is around 9AM ... dips at noon ... rebounds to "good" catagory at 3PM
We should all try and meet at the ramp between 7AM-730AM to meet/greet ... then again at Noon (to compare notes/catches ;) ).
The current weather forecast looks good ... but, we'll watch it, as the week progresses.
We'd like to see more people come to this get together ... so, come on guys and gals, commit to coming and post it here so we'll know whom to be looking for. If you don't have a boat, or don't want to haul it a long distance (but would still like to attend) ... say so, and maybe you can hook up with someone with an empty seat. These get togethers are as much about making friends, meeting members, and having a fun time ... as it is about just fishing & catching fish. Learning new techniques and waters is easier "on the water", than it is to just read about it.
Hope to be seeing ya'll Saturday morning .... luck2ya !!

I would really like to go on Saturday, but I have to take a few kids from school to Campbellsville from 8-7. I am planning on going on Sunday if anyone wants to report on the bite. My son just started his first year of soccer and all his games are on Saturday, so the crappie trips are really starting to get limited.
sorry, going to have to miss - my father-in-law is in the final stage of cancer - need to stay with him and my wife........next time
Bummer, we're a scratch, too. I was looking forward to meeting everyone, but we just can't pull off the logistics this weekend. Hope to see everyone at Taylorsville in 2 weeks.
I'm gonna try and get up there Saturday. Where's the best place to get a license?
Any Wal-mart in KY
but, I have less than a 50/50 shot at being there. I've been trying to get on the site, off and on, all day .... just to let you guys know.
My throat is on fire, and I feel like crap. I had planned on borrowing my fishing partner's boat, being there well before daylight ... so as to have an open seat, if needed. But, now that I seem to be coming down with some kinda bug, or whatever .... I've cancelled borrowing the boat. I'm not sure I should even be in close proximity to anyone, so I really wouldn't want to impose upon anyone for a seat in theirs. I'll just have to wait until in the morning, see how I am feeling, and make my decision then. I really feel like I'm letting you guys down ... setting this thing up, then maybe not being able to attend. I really do want to be there, and it's bumming me out that I may not make it :(
If I don't make it ... I hope you guys understand, and I wish you all the best of luck.

Hey CP hope you get over whatever's ailing you. I have to work tomorrow so I can't be there, but I'm going to be off on the 2nd of May so I'll be at T-ville. Hope you can make that one. I'll have a seat in my boat for you or someone else.
Have an empty seat in my boat, and will gladly keep you down wind. :D Gonna be a pretty day. If you're there, you're there. Be glad to have ya.
I cant come tomorrow but I can contribute a little. I have a friend who has been at green since sunday. He says the fish are in 10 to 12 fow and has been catching them in the robinson creek area. Been picking up 15 to 20 good ones each day but today was especially tough for him. In my opinion today should have been the best but what do I know. I know you guys will have fun and hope everyone gets into them. Please take some pictures and post. Hope C.P gets to feeling better.
CP, got your whatever. Had the boat hooked up a ready to go, and woke up at 2:00 AM "Sicker'n a dog". Got laryngitis this AM and can't talk. My wife thinks its a God sent blessing. Broke my heart, but we'll shoot for Taylorsville.
.... if I had a choice in the matter. I could have "quilled up" and gone, anyway ... but that would have only helped me. I didn't want to take the chance of spreading something around, not knowing what it was or how infectious I was. ;)
I think I've slept thru the worst of it (raging sore throat) ... and never spiked a temp, so maybe it's just allergies.
In any case ... I hope those that made it, had some success and will give a report on the trip.

Did anyone go?
