I fished Eddy Creek on tuesday- kept 15. Best size was in 12-15' water 6' deep on red with chartreuse tails. Water probably had 1-2' down visibility- surface temp was 52-53 degrees. Best fish 14".
Good Luck

I fished Blood River Monday and Tuesday, tough on Monday. Only had 2 keepers in 3hrs but caught probably about 15 8-9" fish. Tuesday was better, cleaned 14. All keepers except one were caught in 8-12 ft of water fishing 5-7 ft deep on Blue/White Southern Pro Scaleheads and Minnow tubes. Water was up to 57 at noon when I left, but I'm sure cooled back off that night. Most fish were caught in/around one brush pile in 8ft of water on the side of a drop from 5ft to 10 ft. Did catch a few on yellow/chart also. Hope you wear them out this weekend, unless I burn vacation I gotta work six 12's in a row starting tomorrow.
Fished Blood last Thursday and Friday.Snow and cold NE wind and still caught a few in less than 10 ft of water on thursday.Fished Friday but the majority of the fish came from 15 to 20 ft.Had about 20 keepers a day.We fished from Irvin Cobb out to the mouth but several boats up toward wildcat.I would say if you're going to longline you can wear the blacks out up above wildcat.Just got back fron T-ville today and caught a limit of blacks, most in less than 6 ft of water.Don't catch them all because I'm going back on the 29th for a week.
I went last Sunday, I fished Tenn. area til noon then moved to Blood River. I caught five nice crappie with the biggest being 14". I was long line trolling, I fished there about 3 hours or less. Let us know how you do Jigboy because I am wanting to get back down there. Good luck.
I will let you guys know how we do. I am hoping I can stay almost all day Sunday but I may only get to fish until 1:00 because my daughter has a double header. I will be long line trolling and I always go out of Irvin Cobbs Marina. I figure if the temperature is less then 60 I will be heading to the left towards the mouth. I am hoping they have made the turn onto the big flat to the right towards Wildcat. I have had tons of luck in that area. Thanks for the info.
I'll be out there sometime on Saturday. On Sunday, Fishtale and I caught only a few crappie and several bass. I hope the temps have the crappie in a better mood. It turned a little cooler today so I expect another front is moving through. We'll see what happens.
I'll be in a SeaArk with my wife and my two sons. I will be long line trolling.
I'll be in a Red TR20 Triton w/ a Merc 225 EFI fishing out of Irvin Cobb mid day Sat. and Sunday....may have my wife, dad, and daughter w/ me or any combo of the above. Hopefully we will luck into a couple and see you on the water.
We went out Friday after work for about 2 1/2 hours. Caught several fish, a bunch of smaller ones, but ended up keeping 11. Gonna hit it again today about mid-day. We'll be in a gray Tracker PT175 with a 50 hp Merc.
Well ole Eddy Creek paid off today. 80 to a 100 small fish. I did manage to bring home 19 pretty gooduns. If I knew I was that close I coud have stayed a little longer. I had a good day, by myself today and last Sunday we ( a buddy and I) got 23.
THE BANDIT
I probably had 60 today in Blood River but the majority of them were short fish. They seem to be scattered just about anywhere you want to try for them.
I fished blood for the first time yesterday. Caught several fish ended up with sixteen keepers. I was wandering do yall think the fish will still be on the big flat in front of wildcat in two weeks (bringing family down to stay at the lake for a few days) or will they be in the bushes. I was wandering if anyone catches them spawning on the flat.
Fishtale and I went out and kept 11 on Friday and only 6 on Saturday. Saturday we caught a little of everything, many white bass, perch, black bass, bluegill, and I even caught a pickerel (only 2nd one I ever caught). We may try to go back out today (Sunday). A lot of people were out there spider rigging but we were beating the banks. I seem to enjoy that better but the spiders seem to be catching more fish. All in all we had a good time and that's what matters. We saw some guys on our little newly discovered hole and they were slamming them but it looked like they were keeping some really small fish....they were from Indiana. I hope they were over 10 inches .
Didn't do good at all. Must be the front that pushed in. Last year at this same time we caught 90 or so in a day and a half. We caught 17 crappie keepers total. Two went 1 3/4 lbs and five went just over 1 1/2 pounds. So the ones we caught were nice but man I am disappointed. Oh well, thats fishing. Still got four more bags of crappie to fry from those 17. We did catch a lot of short ones so the future looks good.
Mepperson I'm sure we saw you out there Sunday or monday? Blood River, that is. Me and a buddy were in an olive 17' Xpress with a Yammy 60. Only one like it out there. Now I can't say that about Trackers. I was making fun of them because my buddy has one...and we saw a bunch of them out there. I only tease him about it because he bought a like-new Tracker 175 with a 50 hp Tracker motor for about half of what I paid for my new Xpress and gave me a case of buyer's remorse.
We caught a few around dark Sunday and at dawn Monday but it was awful slow otherwise. We kept 26 in the boat total, but they was some nice fish. We were mostly throwing jigs at and off the banks. No spider riggin, but we did try the ledges a bit and it produced maybe 4 fish total. And man, the place was crowded.
Jigboy, if you could show me how to catch the redears, I would be happy to to buy all the boat gas, food, and drinks for a weekend!!!
Joe
Half the time I catch the really big ones I am fishng for crappie and get to deep and hook one. I wish I was good at catching those shellcrackers but I do enjoy trying to catch them.
It's been an up and down week for sure. I was out Thursday and limited out in a couple hours. All the fish were 13 plus. Then I guided Friday in the rain during the warm front passage. We caught a dozen big ones but the bite had really slowed from the day before. But we are still catching some quality fish for sure. 90% were whites vs. just a a week or so ago when most were black crappie.
