from the fish I caught the day before, I went back and thought the same as you. The wife only caught 1 yellow bass, and I had a goose egg. Maybe next week will be good after my mini vacation to Dallas this weekend
I took a vacation day to fish yesterday and there were lots of boats on the lake. I talked to several people and only 1 other boat had fish. They apparently caught good over the weekend in the nasty weather. The sunshine was sure nice and fortunately I didn't get enough to burn.
I went too, but came up with NOTHING
Its almost time.............
Mother nature and mrs. slab can sure humble a man can't they.
Yep I got sunburned also and the crappie bit poorly too. I did manage 4 keepers and a few bass. It was a nice day on the water but wuda liked to get a few more. It is coming soon though!
Yep, me too. Skunked 2 days in a row. As I read somewhere before, it was a great day for fishing but a bad day for catching. :D Had a great time anyway! Better days will be here soon.
As with you all, Ouachita was bad also. I had a fellow crappie.commer and his wife fishing with me and we just didn't find any active fish!
Alls we DID manage was a 13" black for Willie (aka RTFISH) and a short bass apiece for myself and Mrs RTFISH. :) We took we really fished HARD from 8 until 2:30, but all the folks I talked to coming in from the lake and another crappie.commer (LITTLEFIRSLABS) on the North Fork, the crappie just had lockjaw for everyone.
But it really was a beautiful day and the water temps are on the rise, once again (59 tops yesterday).
I took the day off today, feeling the second verse would play out the same as the first. But Friday, I'll be out there, ahead of the week-enders, hoping to find the suspended females in 13-15 deep in 25-30 fow slow trollin' the jigs.
Spring has ARRIVED, so git ready.
aj
Kinda hard to call in sick to work then show up the next day sunburnt!!:)
A good reminder to us all to remember the sun screen!
maybe there was too much sun...a little cloud cover seems to help.
Yeah, probably should have tied on a tube of spf 50. They probably would have hit that:D
Daddy, aways told me that the reason they call it fishin not catchin. (lol) Better luck to u next trip & dont forget the sun screen.
I tried it out on Indianhead Lake in Sherwood Wednesday evening too...not a single bite from the Crappie..did catch one small bass on a roadrunner. I even threw the mighty minnow at em...but no takers as far as Crappie. The water was up to 64 in some areas (compared to 50 on Sunday).
