Painting question & what I do

Okay guys I am thinking that I am not the only one that has this happen.

I have painted a bunch of jig heads and oven cured them. Now back at the tying station and tying some color and as I go through them one comes up that the paint job is less than great. It has some place that the paint is not smooth and that is because not enough paint was on it.

Okay here is the question...what do you do? Tie as is, re-paint and cure? or something else?

What I do is I then add a coat of Sally Henson's Hard as Nails for a clear coat so the color will stay on and adds a good solid coat to protect the thin paint area.

Use a colored Hard as Nails then go over that with clear Hard as Nails

I use them as is and fish them as a seek out jig. Use them first to find the snags because I don't care if I lose them.

i tie them as is if they are for me but if they are for anyone else i repaint them...

If i understand the question right, i would take a heat gun to the heads and heat them, then take a small craft size paint brush , dip the brush in the powder paint, and tap the paint on the head where it needs paint, then take the heat gun to the paint you put on to make sure it melts right.

Those are the ones you give to the neighbor kids.;)

Well Skip..... for me I keep things simple... I tie as-is and fish it hard. Them fish don't care. They've hit some of the ugliest stuff I could think of putting together! If it's something I'm doing to go out to someone, I'll just do up a new head. If it's just for me, I move forward and enjoy the heck out of it!

i just throw some hard as nails in case it wants to flake or chip and then it wont happen. then i go out and use it in some tight spots think if i lose it i wont worry.

skip, I have re-cured some and they evened out. Not allways though.
