As long as you bring 14, you can bring them on ice. I get pick of my seven first. Seriously though, Mike doesn't count dead fish against you like most circuits do. I've seen some real stiff crappie weighed. Weighed a dead one or three myself. Your right about one thing. If I can get my 7 every time out, it can't be too tough. Come on out and fish one of those scorchers in August and you may change your mind though. Be nice to get a new guy out there. Bring your A game. These guys are really good fishermen and they all know East Fork really well. See ya in March.
I would check that fellas live box before he launched.. Oops!! I mean cooler before he launched..
Alright ,finally some fresh meat!!!Just messin with you Y-SABS come on out it is a great time with good people.Speckwick is right it is stiff competition and summer is a scorcher but you can boat 200 to 400 crappies in that heat almost everytime .Seven fish is the easy part but seven over 10" can be tough.Good luck and see ya on march 29th
Who said I ever caught 7 fish?
You mean all 7 in one day? WOW, you guys are good!
A Few Simple Rules...
One of then being, all fish must be returned to the lake..
also no more then 7 fish in your boat it anytime...
and you must idle in idle zone's
good luck with the last two...
I know y-sabs - don't worry about the cooler, he has some killer lures.Better check his tackle box. He has them special made in Germany
Hay Slabs i got the Ice auger Maybe this weekend I think i no a spot that holds a couple 1 lb or better croppies
Larry
You haven't been fishing in a few weeks and your already getting excited about 1 lbrs? 2 months ago you were flippin them in your boat all day long, Speckwick and Ohio Crappie Boy was there, they'll remember.
Starvin
the mind is the 2nd thing to go... the1st ??? I don't remember...
Feetball? That is taking it over the edge:D:D:D:D:D
Hoopelhead, you are wrong the 1st thing to go was your(mine) and then the 2nd thing was your fishing ability!!Thinking about a trip to Grenada in 3 weeks with Mike R.,Harry,Phil,Mark,Troy and I.
where can i get info on the boars head tournies?
Yates, you forgot rule#5 to let Allen and Chandler win and the beer will flow!!
Hey Chopper ,been fishing Boars Head tournies for 13 years .What would you like to know?
jus how to sign up what it costs where its at and the rules. is there a site i can look at for info or anything
No website, the tourney schedule is at the Boars Head .Cost is 50 $ per team and that includes big fish pot.All tourneys are on EastFork and we fish from 7 to 3 on Sundays.7 fish per team no more than that in boat ,dont have to be alive. If you fish all 10 or at least pay for all 10 you qualify for the championship which Furniture Fair(RickDaniels)A.K.A. Larry Yates's mentor, and Advanced Glazing sponsor.Hope you join in it is alot of bull****tin and fun!!Also winners in each tourney got 150$ in gift cards to BassPro courtesy of Rob Hedrick.
Chopper ,Yates posted schedule under EastFork 2009.
Looks like we have at least a couple new teams interested this year. Maybe we'll get some more to stick around through the summer. Not even two months away...Maybe less if Mike can work one or two in before the season starts. I can't wait!
Starvin, John and I were there, but we didn't see Larry flipping any 1 plus pounders into the boat. We were too busy catching all those, how's he say....GO Rillas ourselves. It sure was a shame to see this ice roll in, but it might be a blessing. That lake sure was taking a beating, and not just from all of us. I can't remember seeing so many boats out in the winter. We needed to let the crappies' mouths heal up so they can eat and get fat for spring. Won't be long now.
No doubt Speckwick,i can remember 5 to 6 years ago only seeing 2 or 3 boats out.Guess thats the internets fault .I'm game on any pre-league tourneys and best fishing is the ice out pattern for Go -rillas EVEN BETTER THAN SPAWN!!
You're starting to sound like my dad, but you're probably right on that internet thing. I guess we can blame me, Yates, Starvin and Ohio Crappie Boy, and JusFshn. We sure posted A LOT this year when we were lighting them up on EF. Then came the extra boats. But, that's what this site is all about, helping each other catch some crappie. I just hope everybody takes it easy and leaves a few of the big ones when they do. We put all the biggest ones back, except for a pair of 2 pounders I couldn't talk my dad into letting go. I wasn't with him that day or I'd have dumped 'em in myself and got my a@# whipped. He stopped at the house on the way home. They were P-I-Gs. We kept a lot of 10"-12" fish though. I just hope that wasn't a mistake. We still limited ourselves on how many we kept and realeased everything over 12" and under 9". You're right about ice out and big slabs. I have always wondered why we haven't started the season earlier to get into them, especially since May is taken over by the regattas.
Yates ,dont hate the playa ,hate the game.Speck with the water down so far it was like fishin in a barrel this winter. The internet is a good thing, maybe we get rid of some fish and get some down south or Ohio river GO-rillas in there
Low water sure didn't hurt. But you still gotta find 'em, and catch 'em.
it won't be long now (I hope)
10 day forcast looks to be warming. Starting Friday, it looks like it's going to be above freezing most days for the next week. This ice needs to go away. Where's the global warming when you need it.
let me try to post a pic again, test
Ky Lake......GO-rilla
http://i391.photobucket.com/albums/o...ude/kylake.jpg
can you even get any meat off of that.
Nope ,never caught a go -rilla ,they call me guppy swarrper
what it weigh?Nice fish !!
Crappiemax
Don't pay any attention to Yates and Tbone, catch 5 of those and 2 kickers and you should be competetive the boars head tournaments.
Starvin
That is a kicker for us!!
I didn't weight it. It was 16.5 -17" I bought a digital scale but it was in the boat so long it was all nasty and didn't work.
I put it in my livewell to show a friend, you know how it is. I was all full of myself. He pulled one out of his livewell 17.5" We put them back to fight another day. We usually go down to Ky Lake the 2nd or 3rd week in April. I don't think we get as many fish going later in the spawn, but we have a good average.
