Looking for ideas on some colors for some clear water jigs, clear water being 3 to 5 ft. of visabilty. Pics would be nice if you have any. THANKS
Easy, it is Silver/Blue/White.
Here is an assortment I ran last fall for clear water jigs and the one on the bottom is more of a stained water jig, but it is the only one of these that is not necessary for clear water.

The top left is my favorite in clear water with clear sky.

While I don't get to fish much clear water I have to say blue/blue/blue like the ones in Skip pix on the top right side.
white
Blue, White, Chaurtruse
Silver, white, chartreuse and light gray .Since I joined cc I'm going to give the blues a try this year. There must be some reason a lot of people talk about blue.
Thanks Skip,I wrote them down in my notebook so I don't forget. My memory is like a circle. NOTHING SHARP!!!! LOL
Well if you wrote that down you should for sure write this one down. The one next to the all blue one Silver/Fl Yellow/SD blue you should wite down 2 times, LOL! I started tying this color about 2 years ago, maybe a bit longer and I caught lots of fish on this jig. Now here is where is get interesting and some may say he's full of it; I catch more bigger fish on this jig. Not just me either, I send some to a guide on my Pro Staff and at the same time I probably snet him another 5 colors or more. When he came back to me with I need more of that one along with another one I think was Black/FL Orange/Variant Chartreuse hackle tail. He said without me prompting him, "you know I think more big fish get caught on that Silver/FL Yellow/CD blue than other jigs.
My Christmas Jig (FL Red/K.Green/FL Yellow) was my all time favorite for over 35 years, but this one has made me think about that at least. I was using that on an original Roadrunner with marabou tail all the way back in the late 70's and still it is hard to beat on a consistent basis.
I would bet that if I went back the the guys that bought this assortment they would say this has done them extremely well and that just like I said if clear water and the sun is out the Silver/Blue/White was the ticket. I am confident anyone using these enough that they are happy they bought this one.
I have this and a Stained water assortment on my site and with the two assortments I think most people under any water and sky would have been able to do great! I put all my personal favorites in these 2.

They sure look nice skip.
My silver doctor hackle is a lot lighter than the one's in your picture Skip, but it should work once I get the time. Since I've been on cc the list keeps getting longer on things I want to tie.
my clear water colors would have to be white, flo yellow and silver.....but dont have much clear water around here
Red White Blue's,green's,charts, yellow, brown's,depends On Match Of The Hatch As It Were"!,...or So To Speak Easy":):):)
The first Silver Doc Blue I got was lighter and as a matter of fact several colors have changed and mostly this happens because of who is doing the die job and what kind of die they use. I know that Hareline Dubbin use to have the regular green FL Chartreuse, but now it is not near as dark green and I personally think that one was an improvement. Here are a few that have changed and some came from Hareline and some from Wapsi so not an exclusive thing.
Dark green got less dark.
SDB got darker blue.
FL Chart got more close to real Chartreuse (lot less green).
FL yellow got way more yellow.
There are others, but not on top my head right now.
So if there is a color you really like a lot don't use it to give away or sell and buy more to give away or sell or you will not have your favorite color for long, LOL!
