After reading Sowdaddy and Speck's reports, mine is a little non eventful. Went to Chickamauga today with Michael and a great friend, Danny. We had not fished the area before. Caught about 10 dinks and hooked 5 keepers. Most embarrassing part...lost two of the keepers right at the boat! Oh well, had a bunch of fun and learned a bit about Chickamauga. It's a beautiful lake.

at least you boys are fishing over that way. Tried to take the boat to fish Carlyle main lake which I have never seen completely frozen over till yesterday:eek::eek::eek:
hey there john, i think you did a good job , its pretty hard fishing to a new place.there's been alot of times in the past that i would have settled for half of what you caught.also what part of the lake did you fish?

Put in at B&B, caught most of them on the bluff immediately up the Hiwassee on the right from the marina. Caught some on the bluff on the right just under the 58 bridge going toward the lake, and a couple on the flats just past the second bluff.
That is a beautiful area! I will definitely make the drive down some more.
Dont have an ego net, but did have a net. the darn things flipped just as I was reaching with the net! I guess I'm just old and too slow. hehe
thats where i met tenncrappie last week, there was 5 boats on that bluff last week the day we went. downriver in the next creek onthe left, there is some good stump fields that will be good in a month or so when the water comes up a little

If you went below the 58 highway bridge it is restricted(the fishing that is) to the main channel( between the bueys) from Nov. 1 to March 1 because it is in the waterfowl refuge. If caught it is a fine. I don't mean to be a clod just want to save you a ticket. If you put in at B&B and went down you probably didn't see the signs. They are posted at the launch at 58 and down on the Tennessee River coming up river. When it warms up a little maybe Sailfish1 and I can get with you and I have promised Oldwun and we will show you around a little. I'm no guide but can put a few in the boat now and then. When I see ahead that we are going to get maybe a 3-4 span(thru the week) of temps in the 50-57 degree I'll give you guys a shout. Maybe you could come down one morning early fish all day. Have a fish fry and tell some lies. Then fish the next day and go home. Over the past 6 months since joining crappie.com I have put out over 25 crappie bed in several of our local places we freequent. and Have 15-25 more to go. So watch the weather for a window. I'll trade showing you what I know about trolling with the plainner boards and you can show me how to long line and spider rig. I have a 4 bedroom home with 1 bed and bath downstairs someone would be welcome to stay so let me know.

Tenncrappie thanks for the heads up. I saw absolutely no signs, however there were several other boats in the areas we fished so I had no clue of the regulation. Thanks again for the info. I'd love to come fish Chickamauga with some of you guys who know your way around! Thanks for the offer. Sounds like a great time and it would be fun to meet some of you guys in person.
