I like the one on the right,if you use to much it can actualy take away from the action. To quote skip( less is more) I think you should get bite on them though.Keep on tying and the habit will be born.
I vote thin as well. They look good.
It is a little hard to see well, but are you stripping the feathers off of the quill? It will have better action if you do and yes don't over bulk them when tying marabou. I like them full, but not so thick.

Looking good
I prefer thinner seem to get better movment....
Stay thin and strip the feather off of the quill.... You're going to get better action off of it for sure!!...
As everyone has said, tie some skinny and some fat and see which catch more!!

Good looking jigs - try using marabou fluffs (1" to 2'') - a lot easier to tie with.
yes im stripping it off the quill.im going to keep expierementing with the thickness until i like it thanks for all the input
I am a believer in the "Less is more" philosophy of tying. Everyone starts somewhere. The important thing is that you started. Have fun.
There used to be an older gentleman that ALWAYS had a livewell full of crappies. Showed me his jigs and it was nothing more than the thickness of the lead in a wooden pencil....when fluffed out in water. Never seen such thin jigs. He sure caught em tho.

Marabou fluffs are the smaller/shorter plumes from turkeys. You can get some real good stuff from Tackle Craft in Ellsworth, WI.
Have seen it called chickabou (probably from chickens). Most fly tying catalogs carry the short plumes also.
