Guys, most other States have a Big Fish picture thread that has been made a sticky. I figured with spring coming up, we might as well have one too. So if you have a picture of a Big Crappie, stick it right cheer in this thread.

Not enough room to get the whole crappie in your space will to try to catch something that will fit........ not today though lake has hard water on it.

I didn't weigh it just measured it didn't have a scale at the time. She was full of eggs so close to 3lbs I would guess. She sure tasted good. If and when I get the chance to catch another I'll probably have it mounted instead of eatin it.

Great catch Jiggy, you hittin the docks at MCMurtry?
That one's from around a month ago, caught at the East McMurtry boat ramp
Here's one of my twins caught about 3 years ago. Crappie.com had just started a big fish of the month contest and Kaylee and I were fishing Talala Creek area of Oologah. I had a Roadrunner with an orange and chartreuse southern pro hanging off a baitcaster about 8' below the surface and while I was tying another one on, I got the hit on the RR. I told Kaylee to grab the rod and catch that fish. There was a boat with 4 adult men and one boy about 40' from us tied up near the bank Crappie fishing. Kaylee and I were on a search and seizure run, slow trolling points and banks in different depths.
I knew it was a good fish, but didn't think it was a Crappie. OMG, you should have heard that child screaming over this fish. She sure had everyone in the areas attention! She was only 6 at the time and still talks about that fish. I grabbed the net and got it in the boat. I think it was 16.23" and weighed in the neigborhood of 2lbs10ozs.
I know Oologah has the bigger Crappie, my mission in life, is to find where they hang on a regular basis.

Hey Grubby I caught one that was 17 3/8 inches it wieghed 3lbs. 3oz. I had it weighed at our local bait shop across the road from the wagoner wal-mart and Ralph still has my picture up on his wall. I hope you catch another one like that.

Thanks coyote for helping me get that pic on here. I caught that one in early March 09. I think my boys were more excited than I was. (Maybe not!) They still like to talk about that day and I love to hear about it.
