Lund 18' Fisherman with 115 and 8 hp Yamahas
Lots of walleye/bass/crappie boats on this site..
some boats cross over to salmon... Mine fishes Neah Bay and Puget Sound in addition to eastern WA
I heard about that some boats do that, I also heard that some boats go over to makinaw and cutthroat not to menion rainbows..and perch.
My boat fishes everything....but catches nothing.
Then its a good fishing boat. My boat is a good bass boat sometimes it changes over to crappie i heard...(its just a rumor) but it hasnt yet. It has the gear in it to do the job though.
18' Fiberglass MonArk bass boat. 85hp Suzuki bored up to a 105hp. She'll get up to 50mph while on the pad. Not the fastest but I can out run those damn jetskiers :D.
You have one clean Skeeter Bassman. Those boats can really get up into the shallows.
Yeah they can, I was amazed at how shallow it goes.
Here's a pretty neat board I check out a few times a week: http://bbcboards.zeroforum.com/
If you scroll down there's a section for skeeters. The restoration section is pretty good too.
Thanks I'll have to look at this site since theres a skeeter section.
Mine is a 16' Smokercraft Kingfisher with the center console. A 40hp Honda provides good top end speed and at idle it gives me the perfect trolling speed. I love that motor! I'm mostly set up for salmon fishing with a matched pair of Scotty electric downriggers and an Eagle dual frequency sonar/gps unit. I'd like to put a bow mount trolling motor on it for lake fishing. Does anyone know if they make one with a quick dicsconnect mounting bracket?
Yeah ducksoup the minkota makes a quick conect for their bow mounts. Take a look a basspro and cabelas.
Sounds like some nice boats here! I have a 12' car topper w/ an 8 HP Johnson. :p
Car toppers are so fun to put in those hard to get to lakes where you can get big bass and crappie. I have a 9.4 foot mini bass boat with a minnkota up front and a nissan outboard just for that.
My boat was back at Lund for repainting. I found out yesterday it got smashed in a windstorm ( I see something with a funnel) and totalled. They are sending me a new one (same model and length).
Wow so you get a brand new boat?
It was only 2 1/2 years old.
Oh well thats still new.My boat is 17 years old but only has 120 hours on it.
This was my first new one along with brand new electric start and tilt motors. When I get it home I'll give you a run on Sammamish and you can show me all your secret spots. And also teach me what I haven't learned about bass fishing in my 57 years. (somehow I think there will be a lesson, or two, or three for me)
None of that lake is a secret all the whit bouys are usually rockpiles/under water structure. Im going on vacation (Eastern WA) right now but I can give you the Basics of what is working for the fish. The weed lines in the north end in about 15 to 20 feet of water are producing fish along with deeper rock piles. Fish the weeds with crankbaits and the rocks with hula grubs and smallie beavers on leadheads.
I was teasing you about "secret spots". I've got some I was shown 20-25 years ago on that lake. I was out last year trying to find those spots and found out someone "moved" some houses in on my spot. Actually a lot of houses were "moved" in.
I will need to do a local trip to make sure things work ok as soon as I get the boat. I want to do a "shakedown trip" before I go on a salmon trip to the straits. I have one of those scheduled for the end of July. Two years ago we caught over 100 salmon apiece on one of those trips.
Theres been more new houses and condos on that lake then Ive ever seen in the last couple years its a wonder that lake is even fishable with all the mean land owners.
