Jig Test Results

I'm gonna post all the update's here it will be alot easier.

Ok this test so far is on 2 lakes Lake tyler and LOP a total of 6 trips
all of the #'s are avgerages based on My computer program
depth 30.8,air temp 55.3,water temp54.8,wind7.5,plain jigs 8.3, fancy jigs 15.8,best times 7:59 9:25, avg. fish 23.3,avg. size 1.28 ,weather factors 1.67
color's that's to be announced at the conclusion of test 3rd week of March.:)water tyler 24" vis LOP 27.5"vis measured till jig can't be viewed then the length of wet line is measured.

Looks good ... what about water color ?

sorry about the water it's on there to many number's on the page I list all the colors used also so at the end of the test I'll have the most productive color for the lakes.

Man I had a crazy idea I'm gonna post the jigs piece by piece in a build over the next month and 1/2 that way ya'll can kind of guess what colors you'd use like wheel of torture every 2 wk's I'll add something to them till there done if you guess the total build I'll send you 3 in 3 size's Good Luck !the 1st pic is for LOP there are 6 heads their 1/48 minnows but I've been doing the best on 1/32 and 1/60 now here is the head color's top to bottom.factory-red,Tangelo pearl custom blend of powders,hot/pink factory,flame-red factory,strawberry metalic custom blend and chartruse.

what are we guessing ....the colors of the rest of the jig????
bottom first....chart head white body and chart tail
next..............strawberry head green body orange tail
....................flame red head black body white tail
.....................hot pink head pink body white tail
.....................tangelo head rainbow body chart tail
top.................factory red head red body chart. tail

what you need to do is guess at least 2 component colors on the jig other than the heads and after their built guess the right jig to be the winner!!!!!!

I see you got some sickle hooks now flat those things get er done:D

Every fish I've caught has been top of mouth plum through the bone you need needle nose to fish these to pull the hook.

They'll go right to the bone in your thumb too !!

If I read your original post your test is trying showing fancy jigs catch more fish???

On the average so far they have I will say one day they didn't though.

I'll be on LOP for the next 3 days running alot more test hunting better area's and visiting fellow fishing friends I'll update you when I roll in good luck and Happy 2009 Men!

The last shot seemed to echo for ever as the 21 gun salute faded in the moment of silence then the quest resumed on December 29 at 10:31 A.M. the USS Fowlmood fell victim to the murky depths of LOP it was a valor lost as he had boated 3 fish that outting A total of 21 in 5 trips with numerous incounters it was a pleasure Fowl before you send the tan maribou tie 1 more for the archives credits go to Fowlmood,Lm,Fishing-Bud,and ENjones I pulled out the secert weapon jig and finished up the morning I trolled the seas in search of Quick Silver never to find him the next morning I lost both My secert weapons on the 1st 3 fish bad brush I pulled out a modified clone backup taken from 3 of you Mens jigs put 22 fish in the boat in 2 hours Quite impressive there was just a handful of people catching them around Me They were getting angry and closer.Here's the numbers depth 33-34,temp28-66, water temp.52.1 ,wind0-15,plain jigs 8 ,fancy 42, times 9:30 1:30 ,qty. 2 days 50 2 limits ,best 1.9 lbs. water clairty 17-19 " location LOP I also drug in 2 blackbass 9 channel cats? on jigs , put out a trot line and caught a 1 day limit on it they avg. from 1-2.5 lbs. It was a good trip but alot of fish cleaning Tuesday night when I got Home with a limit of crappie and cats, I'll be updating the jig tie and goin to the bench to build back ups word of warning don't buy any Rapala rod's Gandier had these marked down I bought 3 10 footer's the cold must have got them I shattered all 3 their not for brush,gonna replace them with B&M brush cutters .

Here we go to date swap #4 jig's have boated 80 total fish in 11 trips biggest 2.2lbs down to 6 ozs. thats about a 7.2 avg. like I said I'll give the final #s of everyones jigs in May. Plain verses fancy results are this in avgs. water depth 31.2, temp 56.7, water temp 53.6, wind 7.09, plain jig 5.91, fancy 16.5, water clairty 19.6", best times 8:42-10:03AM, fish qty avg 21.8, size avg 1.42 lbs. The qty. dropped due to poorer fishing conditions the size went up due to better fish being caught the clairty dropped alittle due to pretty heavy rains 2-4 wks ago but, its improving the l0ocs. that the fish have been picked up has been changing like the wind I'm ready for stable weather cold or other wise can't wait to get #5 swap jigs to start going through them its amazing running color number avgs. it pretty much tells the story that is the preferred color for the area. Next step, flash tail, after that crystal chenille.
Flash tail to match the jig head, crystal chenille in a contrasting color. I would say a purple or dark green chenille.

You know the more I read this thread it just looks like someone has finally well tried to perfect the perfect lie to the wife saying he has to go fishing to do this study!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

FAT I wish that were ture I was gonna go this morning ,but I'm tired of fighting the wind I had 3 more trimmed oak limb sets I was gonna put out for pre-spawn ,but its to hard to do by yourself maybe another day took alittle time cutting firewood and cleaning up My jig tieing area got a lot of new supplies due in today gettin ready for swap #6 fish I'll throw that jig till I get 10 on it then it's going in the frame of fame awsome work.

Well ya'll proably forgot about test result's not me had a flat day fri. Monday we kept 16 after the front passed it was cool had the swap jig's back in battle today I beat the Fin's off em 51 spec's and 1 medium green carp bout 2 1/2 hours brought home a limit eatin fish for supper surface temp 58.1 depth of fish 9-10 foot several swap jigs couple of proto type's I'm working on did real well wind's 10-20 I was in a cove didn't help much total fish for this year 654 in 21 trip's It's fixin to get good !:)

Great job flat.Crappie starting to come up,looks like in a couple more weeks and you'll be throwing back pounders. Up here the water isn't even 40 yet.The way the weather is going here it's going to be late april,plenty of time to make some killa baits.

I wish the fishing was 1/100 that good here. It snowed AGAIN. Water temps still cold and fish are still on vacation.

How's this for a road trip?Start south and fish spawn,then continue north as spawn starts farther north.I figure you can fish spawning fish for about 3 months. I wish I could afford to do it. I guess I'll start playing the lottery. nahhhhhh. That would take away from my fishing money.
