A cold wet wonderful day on Cane Creek
I went back to Cane Creek this morning and a friend from work met me there. I thought it should be a good day with the overcast skies and rain popping up now and then. Joe caught 1 crappie around 7am and that was it until 12 noon. We moved to another spot and it was raining pretty regular by then and everyone was putting on rain gear or leaving. We caught 4 more between 12 and 1 oclock. Most had gone home by then. We moved to another spot at 2 oclock and we saw Steve leaving and waving bye. I cast my shiner to a spot and reached for the other pole when the bobber went down, a nice slab. I did that 2 more times before getting the other pole out, all slabs. Between Joe and myself we caught 8 huge crappie between 2pm and 3pm. I guess you just have to hang with them, they're going to feed sometimes and if your there it pays off. Didn't catch anymore and went in at 4 oclock. We ended up with 13 big crappie the last fish caught was over 3 pounds. Joe caught a 3 lb 2oz. crappie to end our catch today. I guess you just have to be around me to catch a 3 lber. Ha Ha.
