i read and here that every one says the strikemaster lazer hand auger is the one to have, i currently have there mora hand ice auger and had been thinking about getting a lazer auger. Will it be worth spending my money , is there that big of a difference

I use the 6" Lazer and it cuts twice as fast as the Mora!
Like Len said, you wont be sorry with the Lazer. I have had a Mora hanging in the garage for the last 5 years, after i bought my 6'' Lazer, that never gets used.

Word of caution though. Do not lay it down with the guard off. I know this sounds like a simple common sense thing, but every year there are lots of people hurt with these. They are beyond sharp. :eek: lol ole Mike

no real ice around here just some very small drain ditches and ponds, now there talking about some warmer temps :eek:
I got a HT - 7" Arctic Express Ice Auger last year. I wanted a 6" but when I ordered it they were sold out. I got the 7" for the same price as the 6". It is designed like the Strikemaster Lazer. It works way better than the 5" Mora I still have hanging in the garage. The guard that came with it doesn't stay on very well...so I bought one on ebay for a Lazer and it fits perfectly.
The Lazer will cut faster then the Mora. Also look into the Fin Bore. It takes the same blades as the Lazer and is made in Sweden instead of China.
Have you checked out the new electric Ice Gator? I just received mine today! I'll let you know how I like it!
Hand augers are 1 thing for thin ice.We can get up to 40" so it's a gas auger for me.StrikeMaster Lazer 8" will be hitting my doorstep this weekend.
Got my Mag 2000 yesterday.:) Got my gas can, twc3 oil, and de-icer spray for the auger today. Also got some waterproofing spray for my shanty and snowsuit too. All i need now is some ICE.:D
