Don't do flu shots or any other shot for that matter. Had enough of them from 93-97 when I was in the military. Hadn't had a shot since and haven't had the flu either. I'll take my chances and get it fixed if it does come.

Never had a flu shot, never had the flu.
On a side note, many employers offer flu shots for free to their employees. But read the fine print. A lot of them state that if you refuse the shot and get the flu they won't cover your sick time.
Well my employer, thankfully, hasn't gotten around to state sponsored arm twisting when it comes to shots. Shhhh...don't give em' any ideas. They all looking for the next best thing.

I aint scared of a shot, but I am scared of putting live flu virus right in my veins. I know it's a small percentage that gets the disease from the shot but I seem to be a small percentage kind of guy :) I have battled the flu a lot in the past but have not had it since becoming an adult. My grandmother says that's because building a natural resistance is nature's way of protecting us from this crap. I hope she's right.
been getting them for 10 years now, this years shot seemed to have bothered me more, been sickly a few times in the last month
just keep your hands clean
I ain't skard neither but I with you...I would rather not put that stuff in my body by choice. It may be a good idea when you get OLDER.

It is my understanding that the shingles vaccine is one that can't be stored for any length of time and must be used in a much shorter time than other vaccines which can be held for some time. My flu shot last week at Price Chopper Grocery store for free to me-- paid for by the taxpayers/medicare.:rolleyes:
I am a firm believer in this, I practice good hygeine but I see people pushing open doors with their elbow because they don't want to touch the door handle, or holding a paper towel when they open the door so not to have contact with it. I believe the immune system is a use it or loose it type deal if you know what I mean, however its been about 43 years since I had a good mud pie :)Quote:

I never got a flu shot until about ten years ago when I contacted the flu...I missed a week of work and was under the weatehr for four more...
I offer the flu shot to all my employees at company expense...no fine print. If they want it fine and if they don't fine...it is a personal choice...I personally hope I never have it again...

I skip flu shots. No proof they work yet.
The Flu shots they give now days is a dead virus, but the flu mist that the military has us snort is a live virus. We don't have a choice in the matter you got to be over 45 to take the shot so I've got a few more years of the mist ahead.

My kids get the flu shots, my mom and step-dad do. Heck no matter what I do I get sick, why waste my jig and line money!?
I got mine and will be fishing while all of you rebels who hold out are in bed moaning the blues...I have had the flu 2 times but not in the past 5 years since I have been getting the shot.. Mabey just by luck but mabey not. Who really knows.

I've gotten the flu shot every year for the past 5 years and every year I still get the flu. I don't have good luck with staying healthy. I know the shot doesn't keep you 100% from getting the flu but it is supposed to help if you do get it by making it last less and have less severe symptoms.
