Well, I drove down to the boat ramp at 430 bridge this morning. Figured since I had the boat with me, I'd go ahead and fish.;) Caught 3 pretty good 'uns early. Thought it was gonna be a good day, but nonetheless, they slowed down considerably. Ended up catchin' 6 good crappie. Several little yeller bass, and largemouths. And, didn't believe it, but I'll be danged if they haven't stocked tarpon out there at the river...:p Got a hit this morning that dang near took the pole overboard. After a small struggle, I pulled a 13" shad/shiner overboard... Ended up catchin' about 5 more of 'em and they were hittin' small shiners hard, so if your lookin' for some good fillets to pawn off on that special someone, head on out to the river and do some tarpon fishin'...:D Oh well, the slabs came from just about every depth. I just couldn't put a pattern on 'em today. Water temp 67 with a ever so slight flow. Not very many folks out, and even they were doing a lot of motoring around. I'll probably try out the upper reaches of the river next week...
Sunrise on the river...
