Gold Creek 10-3
Well the morning started off just as expected after not looking at the boat for a few months...Ground wire on the trailer lights was rusted off. Crankin' battery was dead. But I wasn't letting it get me down today...;) Got some rosies and shiners from Dano and headed towards the pool just a tad after daylight. Took me 30 minutes to get the poles in the water with all the crappie and catfish jumpin' in the boat. Ended up cullin' out a limit of 20 around noon. Most keepers were 10" inch fish. Caught 'em 7-10' deep on different brushpiles in the pool. They were hangin' pretty tight to the brush for most of the morning. I didn't try the creek today, but I figure there's some bigger fish in the creek workin' their way towards the pool. Will get a pic tomorrow...

Ceb glad you were able to get out and do some fishing. If you are in Jonesboro working again give me a shout and we will try to find a fwe around Batesville.
-
Ceb, when y'all refer to "the pool", are you talking about Wilhemina Cove?
-
Yep. The pool is the cove.
Here's a quick pic I snapped before they went under the knife. Sorry for the date...stupid camera.

Here's a GE image of the pool with a few good brushpiles marked.

hey chris, thats a confirmation on a few bigger fish in the creek, had 2 fisherman caught 6-7 nice crappie out of the pads and channel edges in a relatively short period.jigs ,its coming!!
-
Chris, glad you got to go again. Nice bunch of crappie, hopefully it won't be long until we can get some Cane Creek hawgs.
-
Nice ceb those were worth the trip did you have the goocher with you?
-
Nice catch Ceb....I plan try to make it there Monday or Tuesday....Thanks for the detailed
report
-
Chris - good to see you on the board again and back on the water, and as always...you get 'em. Nice fish. Tried the Little Maumelle Sunday morning. Not a bite. Picked up the beginnings of some bait fish running at the mouth of the river on the depth finder. Should pick up the next couple of weeks I would think.
-
Aww...Goocher flaked out on me. After not hearin' from him by 10am, I figured that he needed all the beauty rest he could get...:D
Hey SS, did you fish today? Looks like I'll be back out there Wednesday afternoon.
And Joe, looks like the river is trying to get back to normal. It's been a tough summer as far as flows go. It should get right within the next couple weeks, but looks like I'll be spending my weekends on Cane Creek.
-
I went this afternoon before the rain started....I didn't have much luck, managed just 4 with only 1 good sized one. Couldn't get a bite in the pool. Caught the 4 in the channel on the way back. The bite may have been better earlier. It looked like a mass exodus of boats coming out as I went in.
-
Yep, it's gonna start getting really busy out there. The boat traffic makes it tough to fish the creek. What were you throwin' at 'em SS?
Hey Dano, how much did the water come up last night?
-
Where is Gold Creek and what addie do you use to get the "G E Image"?
Thanks in advance.
Harold

I did Gold Creek on Sunday, and I got a TON of small ones. The big uns have not moved in yet. They will get there when the water gets in the low 60's.
Gold Creek is in Lake Conway. The GE image is Google Earth.
-
the water came up about 10-12 inches, that ought to be good for the crappie,no report yet.

DanO,
Where is your place located? Which side of hwy365 are you on?
I may have been there before.
When I buy minnows, I will get them from you.
