have you noticed you can't find large flo chartreuse chenille?
Barlows and Gander Mt both had it last time I was there.
I'll have to double check Barlows, and Gander Mt is a new one on me. Thanks Tex!
Rats! No dice, Barlows only has yellow flo chartreuse, I'm looking for green, couldn't find it at Gander.
I did :p
Anglers Workshop - Fluorescent Nylon Chenille Large - 72 yds
Is that what you're looking for ??? If nothing else, look around on the site, order a free catalog, or check on smaller amounts of flo green chenille (if the 72yds deal is too much).

Ah hah! Jiggin Joe hit the nail on the head. Barlows may advertise it, but that is yellow if I ever saw it. Fatman pinned it down for me elsewhere on the web, thanks again FM!!

If I had know Monday you could have ordered it with me from Danville. Ordered a bunch of chenille then. I have that color in size #2, but they make it up to size #12 which is huge. The size goes by 2's after size #6 so they make #3, #4, #5, #6, #8, #10 & #12. The bigger it is the more it cost.
How big are you looking for?
Skip
Skip your using size 2, as in 2mm? Eh, doesn't matter, we use the same jigs but I was thinking more like 4 or 6. But I have noticed that rarely is everyone on the same page when it comes describing chenille size in their ads.
Size #2 is perfect for a 1/16 oz. jig and needs double wrap for 1/8 & 1/4 oz. Some call it Medium, but here is the size chart and just because I use size #2 if you want 2 skeins I can get any size you want of most any color. Actually I use some 2mm Crystal Antron and I think it is a tad smaller than size #2 I use in regular chenille, but not positive about that.
Danville Chenille Company Inc.
4 is getting pretty large and most call it large, but #6 I don't see at any fly or tying shops, but I can get it from Danville if you ever want any.
Skip
hey Skip, can you post a pic of one of those size 2's on one of grousefly's 1/16th heads?
I'm with Ship I use size 2 or Medium. Works great for me

My problem is- the act of equating everything into a crappie jig from all my fly tying stuff and the massive array of people I have bought it all from over the last 10 or more years. And I still have this odd compulsion to put fly patterns on jigs, no matter how much I fight it, it's like an illness.
Sure here is one version of Electric Chicken tied with #2 Chenille...
Skip & Not Ship, LOL!

And one other. I do believe both are on 1/16 oz heads.

Nothing wrong with tying fly patterns on jig heads!! some of the nymph patterns work well as well as a RS2 pattern.
Sorry Skip, had a finger fart.
