Canepole,
I did have one of the screws on my 997 come lose on me the other day( screws will not float) while fishing. They come in pairs and cost $17.00.

Who was charged $17.00 for 2 screws? If you were charged $17.00 for the screws can you tell me what they were for and where used. I just want to get a little of understanding here.
Ky Teacher mad the post about screw pricing. I looked and saw my 797 is also missing a screw. It is the one (of a group) that holds the unit together. Looks like a allen head screw.
I do not know to which screw he is referring.
This a reported/repeat problem here?

I'm curious, even if he did have a screw fall out, why did it fall in the water instead of on the floor of the boat?

My unit is on the starboard side of the console (where original x47 was mounted by Tracker Marine). My missing screw probably fell in the water because of this location. Prob wouldn't be a bad idea to snug the screws on occasion. Now, is it metric or SAE?
I need 1 screw for the 797. I will send SASE.
Don't believe there is a screw anywhere worth 17 bucks, not even in Alabama.:)
a little dab of red locktite will do the job,,,
I was charged $17.00 for two screws for my 997.The screws was the ones that goes into the side of the unit and holds in to the mounting bracket.I have a swing arm base and the unit sets at the edge of my boat. The price does include shipping.

I work with a guy who is not happy unless he has something to complain about, but he gnerally does stick to his own problems.
