Just checking if anyone has fished Midway or heard any reports from over that way. The river should be getting out of it this week. Thinking about trying it this weekend. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ringo

I haven't heard anything.
I fished it before this last rise and caught a few. Look forward to fishing again after the river falls.
We went this past Saturday evening into night and did not get one bite (no exaggeration). Fished for Crappie around cyprus trees and the buckbrush and the river is still in it and was around 27 ft. I was told from some of the locals that the fishing will be better once its back down to about 22ft.
I fished it before the river came back up and did well. I am counting the minutes until 23.5 on the Memphis gauge.
Looks like the river at memphis should be at 23.6 by saturday so next week at midway should be good. Do any of you know the phone number to the bait shop there at midway. Crappieman101, were you trolling or tightlining the trees. I would think the trolling should be good once the water falls. Thanks again for the information.

I am a one pole tightliner, no trolling for me, boring. I look for the crappie to be scattered and am going to try to catch a few bream, too. I think there may be a few trollers in the spread.
River is 24.7 now.
Forgot to add that there have been a lot of cats and crappie caught during the last few days on yo-yo's.
I thought the river got out of there around 22 - 22.5 feet at Memphis. Is it 23.5?
The river is at 24 this morning. crappieman101 are you going to be there tomorrow. I think we are going to try it out if I get a decent report from the bait shop there at the landing or someone post saying they did well yesterday or today.

I may go tomorrow...I have not called Joyce today and asked her how much the water came down since yesterday.
Water is still higher than it was when I fished two weeks ago. It looks like Sunday or Monday for me. Just got off the phone with Joyce. Yired of waiting , but not going until I think have a chance to catch fish. I may go and put out some yo-yo's late one afternoon if I get seperate.
Please give us a report.
Water is still up as of yesterday afternoon...very few fished this weekend and caught even less.
Water is almost back to normal.....fish are not biting yet.:(
One of my partners got the same report from the boat camp this morning. They said the river went out of there yesterday, but the fish weren't biting. They said some times it took several days up to a week for the fish to settle down and start biting. I had always heard before that they usually started biting as soon as the river is out, but I guess you can hear anything.
My wife and I fished at Midway last Monday. Could not get anything going on jigs or live bait around the cover. Had to move to open water and drift fish with the wind sock out to find the fish. Found them in 10 foot of water, suspended at 6 foot. These fish were just down from the boat ramp out from the boat docks. We slow trolled (lighting bug color jigs) a figure 8 pattern through the school and ended up bringing home 10 that would average 1.5 each. The fishing there should only improve over the next few days.
Has any one been since Monday? The wind has been pretty bad, but please give us a report if you've been.
