Douglas Fish Fry
Joined alot of you at the fry today had a great time getting to meet all of you. We had lots of great food and fun for the ones that wasn't there you missed a great event! Thanks to Speck and Sinkum and Charger and all of their family for putting a good shin-dig on and all of the hospitality,and Booger for showing all that was there his Honey holes. Lots great people and my daughter didn't want to leave. We even had search planes flying over trying to find those fried pies and fried green tomatoes!:D I'm sure they'll be several Pictures later. Thanks again!

Booger, that video was awesome, you need to show me how to do that. I have some pretty cool pics also. i have to wait for Sinkum before I post them. We really had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed meeting all of those whom we had not met before. Ditto on the fried pies and maters. We ate the rest of those pies today. I am still eating what is left of the few fish. hey Boog, tell Jeri to give me a call, she and i are up to something and I have a few good ideas!!!:eek:

I'm with Skeetbum...I missed it too and I'm sorry I did. I'll try and be there for the next one. Yall looked like ya had one heck of a good time. Too bad Oldwun got tied up and couldn't make it, cause I know he was really lookin forward to being there. Tight Lines!

Again - my apology for not showing up. Our community yard sale went very well. We had 18 homes participating and 15 more that "snuck" in when they saw the turn out. We use some of the money for the community block party, the kids raise money for the school by selling drinks (they wore out both of my golf carts) and everything that we do not sell goes to local charities. They had to bring a 32' box bed to load it all up when we were done. A lot of people benefit from this sale. I hope you can forgive me for missing this fish fry to help my wife and extended family. I am on the committee for next year - so I promise you it won't be on the same day as the fish fry.
Many of these guys have helped me find and catch fish here in TN. And I am grateful for it. They have been open and honest and willing to share what they know. I have tried to return the favor as often as I can. I'm sure they were all sharing information and answering questions all day long.
I saw a lot of children in the pictures. Great video by the way Booger ;). Showing the young ones what fishing is all about is great. Through events like this they see the joy, friendship and fellowship people gain from fishing. One of my personal hero's Mr. Chuck Yeager once said "There is no time when we are walking on more common ground then when we are fishing". It gives us a common thread, bond, objective to share. It brings us together. It's a wonderful thing this fishing thing :D. Regardless of the species you fish for, how you fish or where you fish knowledge is power. Sharing your knowledge makes you feel good and makes you a better person.
I hope this event continues to grow every year. I'll do my best to be a part of it.

I see yall had alot of fun with the fish fry.Me and Thrill is going to have to make plans on attending one of them soon.We talked about this one but seems we had things here to do and we was both having boat problems.Good time I see there.Way to go all that was there.

That food looked better than any food I have had in the last 3 weeks! I did eat some crawfish though. They were cajun and hotter than anything I have ever eaten!
