Them green ones should do the trick!!!
Al
slab magnets by far the best choice
if i had to guess i would say slabb magnets if you are throwing them or stump finders if i was throwing them. i couldnt keep a jig that pretty for 5 casts.lol
Crappie Assasins
well in that case i will test them when i get some better weather. If they work pretty good ill put up a dozen for sale. Prolly would be 6 chart. and 6 green/chart. OR 4 chart 4 green/chart and 4 chart/white.
Looks alot like spinnerbait skirts.
Those will work nicely.
thats exactly what they are grits. The plastic has nice flutter to it in the water so i tied some up hopefully some time today maybe later this afternoon ill get to try them out. If not then i will defenitely be on the water tomorrow. With the weather that came through and all this rain prolly messing the fishing up it will be the ultimate test for these jigs if they can trigger a strike.
During the summer and warmer months the plastic will work fine, but during the winter and very cold months the skirt material will start to stiffen up and have much less action. I have tried them before, but I could not find the skirt material at a decent price. The local sporting goods stores would sell the skirt material but it was about 50 cents for enough to do about 4 jigs. I can get marabou and bucktail much cheaper, and I am a fairly cheap person.
well i bought skirts to do about 400 jigs for about 20 bucks.
I fished them today after the weather broke and the bite got progressively better. I ended up catching 31 fish total with 1 keeper and the water conditions were so muddy i almost went in the house to get a glass for chocolate milk.
its a very very slow process you cant fast wrap till the very end. I mean that is if you want to get em with the flare outs. The picture doesnt do the jig justice but when you put these in water those strands flare out and add a lot of movement. Like i said it take a bit to tie and you have to have good soft hands cause if you tie them tooo tight youll cut the rubber.
What would a dozen of those toys cost?
well depends on the size obviously the bigger the higher the cost cause the more material used. for 1/16th id say prolly 10 bucks a dozen retail.
Great idea with the spinnerbait skirts. I like that alot.
Also i wanted to mention this. If you have certain color of skirt that is native to your area and works well. PM me and im sure we can work something out and ill tie some for you guys. Like i said you need to be pretty good at tieing get these to look right cause the rubber likes to poke out in the middle of the tieing process. There is a fix for that but it is a trade sekrut.
Unfortunately i have to say that these wont be sold on ebay. I sold a dozen and failed to even come close to breaking even. If you guys want to work out a price im sure we can come to some kind of agreement. Other than that you wont see these for sale on the website as they fail to draw enough attention from the population as a whole.
