Heading down to Talquin Friday to try out the shellcrackers and bream, heard of anybody catching any there? Should be good timing if the water has warmed enough!

Anybody.
I'm waiting/ watching too.
Just registered to log on and reply. Fished Talquin Saturday PM. Was slow until 45 minutes before dark. Started catching bigger bream at that time, however, 3 LARGE catfish hit my crickets and delayed my pursuit of bream. Took up 30 minutes of time due to re-rigging. Good time to go. Will be out there Friday morning. Saturday I fished the mouth of Little River. Hope this helps!
It's my understanding that both are bedding at Talquin.
Thanks for the report. Guess we will see what is going on down there in just a few days. Will be down there by friday lunch and will post a report maybe monday. Good luck!
Hope you load up on them Jabbo. Shellcracker usually bed up around the Iron Curtain but I've not found them for the past 3 years. Will look forward to your report next week.
Thanks for the tip. Hope to have a good report to give you!:)
Jabbo - It was just brought to my attention that the Leon County Sheriff's Dept. annual bass fishing tournament will be held on Talquin this weekend. There may be nearly 150 boats in the thing. I think they usually launch out of Williams landing so make sure you avoid it. I suspect a bunch of anglers will be pre-fishing Friday so I may change plans and fish the river. Called this morning and the river stage is 7.4 ft. Still a wee bit high but better than bobbing up and down all day with those bass boats zooming by. Just thought I would make you aware.
Well, did not want to hear news like that but at this point theres nothing I can do about it. But thanks for heads-up.
Took the wife last Sunday and we hit them real good. Had 40 of some of the biggest blue gill Ive ever caught out of Talquin. In 2.5 to 3 feet of water. Had a blast catching them!!!
We did pretty good also over the weekend. I have been so busy trying to get caught back up that I haven't had a chance to post the pics on here. I will try to do that shortly.
