I was curious about these too.
I didnt notice in the add but I seen some where that they had a year warranty and if it will last that long it will probally last as long as a new one.
the warranty is mentioned in Cabela's ad.
Reconditioned items, often can be better than first run production models. WHY?? first run are assembly line products and although tested sometimes things are missed. A reconditioned one is gone over by hand by one individual who checks the whole unit. So SOMETIMES reconditioned can be better.
Just my opinion as a former washer repairman for GE.
I agree, and usually that individual is a little sharper than the average production line person. They have to be, because they need to figure out what is wrong first.Quote:

reconditioned doesnt neseccarily mean used. they have to list something as reconditioned if it was bought/shipped out and returned for whatever reason (i.e. wife or gf put their foot down when it came in and said this has to go back!)
I'd rather buy a reconditioned one that a used one! That being said I just bought a used MK 50lb thrust for $200! The steering does need to be adjusted on it, but I think I got a good deal! :D
I dont have tons of money to spend on a trolling motor, and I may be buying the lower end Minn Kota. Seems to me, and I've had 3, a year is all they last anyway. I had problems with every Minn Kota I've bought. Motorguide from here on out.Quote:

I bought a reconditioned MK 46lb Edge, I think. It looked like it never left the factory and has been perfect. I saved a lot of coin buying it instead of new.

Im a Authorized Service Center for Minn Kota these reconditioned motors are just over stocks and they drop the price and cut the warranty to one year. They are a great deal I keep several in stock pm me if your looking for somthing inparticular.
