Killer Bream Fly
Here is a pic of one of the dronwing ants I tied. It is a very quick and easy tie. This one is tied on a tiemco 2457 size 10 hook with 4 glass beads and grizzley hackle. I would normally use size 8 thread but didnt have that size in a color to match beads so I had to use size 3. Hope you enjoy.

Great looking bug man...... I bet youll slam the fish on that...Great job

Great looking fly. :) I wouldn't use it in waters where there are a lot of turtles though. Turtles like to bite the glass beads off flies. :( As a result of the turtles in a lot of waters I fish, most all of my flies have only metal beads.

Re
Do you have trouble with fish tearing up that thread easy?

Excellent looking fly. I'm going to tie a couple and try!

NICE looking fly, but am curious as to why you tie the thread in-between the beads.
Is that to give it a more segmentead look, or just to keep the beads in-place ?

Re
Buckeye, that is what I was going about asking with my question..
-
yes it has thread to give it a sectioned look just like an ants body

That is a good looking fly. good job..

I tied the thread in between to give it a segmented look and hold the beads in place a little better. It is not needed though. I do tie some without the thread in between the beads. One thing that is needed though is to wrap the hook shank with thread to keep the glass beads from breaking.
