Depends on the water temp . They will follow the water up into the shallows , unless the TVA pulls the plug. I used to catch them in the bushes on spinnerbaits while fishing bass tournaments , whenever the water was over 359' and above 60 degrees .
You can bet TVA will pull the plug, it's just a matter of how soon will they do it. It's probably gonna play hell with the spawn in our neck of the woods.
You wouldnt think they would pull the plug too much being its just 12 days till summer pool time.
I would think that they will see how much more rain we get this week before pulling the plug. There is already going to be high water down river so I would think they will let all that run out before adding more to it.
Hold Water Hold !!!!!!!!!!!!
DTG, when are you heading up there? be sure and let us know whats going on.
We plan to be there a few days before we head out to grenada.
Prob. go tommorrow.
If they are in the bushes then we will have to ditch our plans for Big Sandy and head down river WTC. :D

Forgot...we may be meeting some people at Big Sandy Friday so scratch that. We will move down rive Sat., Mon, Tues. Reelfoot, Wed. leave for Grenada. I going to have to come home and go back to work just to get some rest. LOL!

yea, I am not fishing on Friday probably. But them other days I am most likely in!
I have a good feeling we will be puting lots of fishies in the boat over that stretch!
NOAA Hydrologic predictor says no flooding in the Lower Mississippi basin, but the Ms river will approach flood state in the next few days. I will bet the Tn will be backed up and we will get some more high water. Haven't see this since 2003.
We need high water on occasion. Cleans the shoreline. Sends the trash to the Ohio. People in Tn too lazy to clean up their messes.
I will just fish amongst the floating trash and high water next week, and clean up my area along the shores when the water recedes.
I just hope the crappie don't spawn too shallow before the water recedes , leaving the nests high and dry .
Looks like the rain thats a coming is going to be a good one.Id be willing to bet we will have some water marks we havent seen in a while.Time for a change of game plan.
The water temp. isn't right for spawning yet. They won't drop them all anyway.

This warmer rain should increase the water temps a few degrees too .:)
what is the time on the river now.......the other day at Prest I found some water at 54.5 if my gauge is right.......
Here is a good site to check for current and predicted lake levels on the Tn. and cumberland river reservoirs . www.tnriver.com
Click on TVA river conditions , then use the pull down menu for the location and reservoir .
If youre on the go.
Call 1-800-238-2264 press 1 then 46 for ky lake water level.press 2 then 46 for predicted lake level.Got this programmed in my cell phone.
