cruise,
I don't know much bout 60ft water. but I have fished we the best boo boyes in Arkansas. Jerry and Derryl. They know all about it and how it works. Don't know where you are from but, the deepest I have seen any is about 30ft or so. It should work for hot summer time crappies as well.
I can't imagine trying to stay on a brushpile in 60 feet of water. I wouldn't put it in more than 25.....and don't care to fish THAT deep. Put it in the center, near the mouth and near the creek channel of a major cove and the crappie in that area will use it most of the year.
I don't think you need to go quite that deep. If you can drop in 45 to 50', make sure the bamboo is tall, like 15 to 20' tall. Crappie will susbend in the top during summer and winter. You can titeline over the brush and fish 30' deep. My secret is to wire a plastic jug to the top of the bundle of bamboo so it stands straght up off the bottom. You can get off to the side and fish all the way to the bottom. For a real treet, set up some lights during the hot summer and fish this with lights, you can see the fish come up with a good sonar.
im from greenville sc i fish lake russell and clark hill most of the time and thanks for ever ones come back and if any one think of any thing else please let me know
cruise, i sent you a message.......cathead
thanks cruise...............cathead
Caught fish on wood 60 deep on an 80 deep brush pile.....never tried boo that deep tho
Were they grouper, red snapper, triggerfish, and black sea bass?:D
grouper....a group'er two of crappie :D
I'm gona drop a bundle of my 15' stock in about 40' of water Saturday at lake Norman, if the wind and rain don't stop me. Ought to make a great place this summer and winter.
Let me help you with that  lol j/k.....40' is great for the summer
They are going to have to wait till Sunday!!! Don't want to handle 15' bamboo durning a thunderstorm and I would rather not be wet either:eek:
Each 15' bundle will have about 4 stalks wired together, 2 or 3 bundles will be wired together to make a master bundle, each master bundle will get a detergent jug wired in the top of the 2 largest stalks to make sure they stand vertcal from the bottom. The entire drop will be 4 master bundles, all wired to a 5gal bucket full of concrete, about 80 lbs. The whole thing is tied to the rear clete on the boat with poly rope, towed to the magic spot, cut loose with a knife, then push the mark waypoint button on GPS. God help the poor soul that gets tangled in the wire or rope!!! It would be hard to swim with all that pulling on you. After its on the bottom, I confirm my waypoint with the fish finder graph. I don't worry about people finding stuff that deep cause its out in open water, and its hard enough to find when you got the GPS numbers, often have to make several passes. These condos look like a hot air balloon made of smoke on my Hummingbird SI 797:eek:
If youre talkin about Lake Norman NC it's probably better that you didnt do saturday with the Dogwood Tourny this weekend (i think)
EDIT: ooops wrong person lol......same goes for you too Johnny Reb ;) lol
Hey Treed, don't I know you from RDT's site? I'm Scate Buster when I fish in the salty water.
You sure do. I just hate that its from RDTs site and not somewhere good like Fish Militia ;). You shoulda did it this eveing JR...I was in Davidson Creek.......yes DAVIDSON CREEK and was the only boat I saw except for 2 putting in going striper fishin on the shoals around marker 7 and one guy taking out that had been ?flyfishing? Bird Dog from RDT/FM/Fishtradewinds is on here too as K5 Blazer and ummm RCN or whatever his sn that catches them James River cats.
I freqent the Fish Milita site regularly:p Rob does a great job with information, has some great film on fishing the OBX, I'm even in one from last spring during a drum blitz at the point. Looking at a trip to HI 5/2 to 5/5 and / or 5/12,5/13,5/14,and 5/15/08. Might do both trips, depends on what the NPS does with access:eek:
Was that you I saw this am with boo in a center console down at Beattys Ford access??
