yep i've been several times. water is plenty high to load and unload. BASS are bitinf too. DD-22 crank bait. good luck
I heard they were still having difficulty getting boats in. How big a boat can you launch right now? Been once and got in the lake but liked to of not got out. Someone said they took a backhoe to the end of the ramp and dug out about three ft. Should have fixed the dang ramp right so people can use the resource.
Anyway glad to hear some people are able to lainch there.

I was...the lightning wouldn't let me get the boat cover off. Boats still sitting outside hooked up and getting soaked with rain. Wish the cover was off and I was in it. I may go to my secret spot this afternoon for a few hours if it looks like the weather will cooperate. Stinks! Same weather patterns as last year. Hope it changes or the retired guys are going to be the one's having all the fun. :D

Can you catch crappie in GCL?
I've heard that there are some pretty good fish in there. Lots of flooded timber and bushes. There should be anyway. The bass are king though. They got some in there as big as nuclear subs.

I heard of several nice fish being caught a couple of years after they opened it. Reports since then have been scarce. The ones I caught last year were decent fish say 12-15" but nothing big. It was a crappy day kinda like tomorrow behind a front. The fishing was slow.
I have also heard of nice (+8lb) bass being caught. If they are that big the habitat seems condusive to having good crappie.
Hey CH, give up that secret spot. I looked for you at all the local favorite spots last year and never found you.

That secret spot you WERE going to this afternoon. Obviously youare like me and are just surfing all day. DANG WEATHER. I did some needed maintenance on the boat today, cleaned out a couple of boxes and restrung a couple of poles.
Yeah...I spent about three hrs. at Dick Sporting Goods and Gander and Mtn. Met some crappie fishermen at Dick's and we got to talk'n fish'n. Kind of help my mood a little. I did good though, only bought three floats. Heeeheee.
Thought about the secret spot but I decided against it. Hardly ever fish on Sun. afternoon after church but tomm. I may just have to do it.
The secret spot is more of a bass hole than crappie. But fishing is fishing on a weekend like this LOL!
