How many people will be there do you think? Thought about trying it.
I drive by there every day BreamReaper! I've been watching for any sign of fishing, but so far no one doing anything. I always lean up when I'm coming down the hill going East to see if I can see anybody up away from 40. Been thinking about coming down there and putting out at Cuba. Last year I saw all kinds of boats with spider rigs. Must be some good Crappie in those two areas of water.
Now you can go out there if you want, but personally I like to go some place more isolated and quite. Not as many people. Like Reelfoot, Percy Priest, Big Sandy.
There's some good sauger fishing just north of there where the Duck River comes in. I lost 3 good baitcasting rigs several years ago south of the bridge - one of my lines came loose and a crank bait got caught on something and all 3 rods flew out of the boat.
There will be more people down there than you can shake a stick at. I can't wait to hear you guys talk about that ramp! Heeeheeee

I'll be there with everyone else. Thought about setting up a floating concession stand for the crappie event of the year. At least that is what it will look like with all the boats in there.
It will be packed. I am looking forward to the fishing though. Didn't they install a new ramp last year?
Hound,
Are you going?
amen Crappiehound, It will be a site to see. I wouldn't be caught there on the day it opens. i will wait my turn and go during the week. it is so packed you wouldn't be any problem to walk out if your motor dies. All you have to do is walk from boat to boat.
Man I haven't been there in years ....... caught my fair share there for sure....... the 1st time I went there was in the spring and there were boats everywhere........we had some little little minnows and were putting the hurt on them onice we ran out it was all over.....only could get big ones at the time around there :(........I'll be at Prest most of the time......gas just to high to drive to far........heck with gas like it is might not run to far on the water too...............good luck and good fishing ....
They did put in a new ramp last year but it is pretty steep. The bottom of my trailor rubs a little coming out of it. I doesn't do it enough to hurt anything. I have used worse ramps
No way...I'm not getting caught up in that mess. People eager to get on the water, faces all scrunched up because the line is long and no way to do anything about it. Then some poor guy who has not been there before is trying back his boat down that Class 6 ramp. People frustrated and finally get out on the water and try to find a place to fish. If I'm up there I will be on the river got a place almost identical where there will be fewer boats and bigger crappies. :)
I don't know about the ramp. Not sure how they would improve the steepness of that thing. STEEP! LOOK OUT BELOW! LOL!

hound I wouldnt think of saying anything about the weekend warrior. I no that every one does not work all the time.
I didnt care to fish the thon for the same reason.
The foot now is the same way I used to leave every weekend! But now that i fish with some of the best crappie .com'ers I've come to learn thats when it's (Let the party begin!!) It's the weekend. So i've been staying a lot more with my friends on the water!RFY
Well Reelfoot is different...I guess. There is more water there and you can eventually find a place to pull up and call your own. If your feeling particulary chipper that day and want to jump in and bump boats with folks you can do that too. WTC and I are headed up to the foot tomm. Gonna be there?
Hope to see ya my friend,
