Hey Dale: Is there a limit on outboard size on Conway? Mine is a 40 hp, I could leave it up and use my trolling motor. Are we doing the same set up as last time? $15 with boat, $10 without? Sorry I sent a pm to you before I looked at all the new posts.
Flyfinger,no motor limit on conway.as far as the money that is the proposal still, unless neededto some alteration.i believed we will definate have some more improvement as to all as the ground works had been laid. the report for the last few days is...at least 2 a day did well with 10 -15 fish out of 4 a day fishing.no certain pattern, leaning back on the deep side.not bad considering water falling2-4 inches a day.water is still high,5 gates open cut down to 3 gates.looks like the bite will be fair till we get past this weather.we'll see
Hey Dan,
You ever keep any kind of log book or data on past yrs?
The 29th is fine with me.
Slipcork, yes some and keeping up ,been here 2 1/2 yrs.have fished here 20 yrs.and by the way March is a hot month!i dont have to advertise it guys that been coming here for yrs all know!
Hi guys...I'd like to come over on the 29th. Meeting everyone face to face and doing some fishing sounds like a good time. I wanted to go to the last one but it was my grandkids (twins) birthday.
Hey Dano, you got any maps of Lake Conway? Never been on the lake w/o a guide (Bobberwatcher). I have to see if my nephew still wants to come before I commit to bringing my boat. Its a long pull. Getting to Conway, no problem, getting back home is up hill. LOL
Most of the snow is gone already. We got about 8 inches overnight, but at least half is melted already. Thats whats good about March.
yes sir,shows depths and channels.$4.00
March 29 works perfectly. I'll be on spring break that week, so if y'all want some fish, I can sure fry some up for this get-together.
I'll be bringing my boat and an empty stomach. Count me in for the entire day (and maybe part of the night, who knows)
I am new to this thing somewhat... What is a "Fish and Eat"?
Its a non formal gathering of some guys and gals from Crappie.com. We just get together and fish then cook out. Its a great way to meet folks from the board and pick up tricks, tips and boat set ups of other crappie fisherman.
Sure do hope you try and make it even if you dont have a boat. We always have a number of non boaters join us and they just jump in with some of the folks that did bring boats.
No can do that weekend after checking the calander. Got to be in TX for the Bluebonnetbrewoff (Homebrewing Competition). But I have been a little courious about Lake Conway, only ~30 minutes from the house, and looks good from 40
Homebrewing competition ehh? (Looks like we just lost gooch for the fish and eat  )
From what I am told, they usually need all the help they can get during the Friday judging. I am going to help out, if needed, if not, I will just have to trade samples with other hombrewers.

Hey guys count me in on the Fish & Eat get together.
WooHoo! Gettin' closer...let's just hope the weather has mercy on us. Lookin' forward to it, rain or shine.
LRJoe has set the precedent, he's got condos sittin' there at the launch waitin' to get wet. It would really be great if we all could pitch in a little time to bring some condos. Any ideas?
I brought one last time. Hope Dano found a place for it. If so, it should be holding fish by now. Looking forward to it. Tight lines.
I decided to pull my boat down. My nephew from Ward is going to join us. Been watching Dano's reports with my tongue hanging out. I need a crappie fix!!!!!
Looks like I will be bringing my wife and two little girls with me!
what time does this start? if i dont have to work im going to try and be there
talked to Gooch today, depending on response i believe we talked burgers at 12:00 -12:30.but i do want to say anyone welcome even if you dont want to do the eating.pack your own lunch or whatever, main thing come out and get some fishing in.males are heading back to the bank.so everyone has option to just fish and bs.seems we may have 6-8people interested.im here anyway so i am very flexible.waiting on post from the goocher.
Looks like a front is coming through for the weekend. But, I am always excused from my duties to go to these gatherings. So, look for me on the flats.
DP
Unless it is raining, I should be there around 12 and will fish the afternoon.
Ya'll have fun. Still haven't got a boat yet and don't want to feel like I'm imposing on anyone. May come down and bs at lunch.

Well, I hate to say it...but it looks like I've lost my freedom saturday. I've been told that I have other things to do, more specifically, wedding stuff...:( Nuff said. I hope y'all have a blast tomorrow.
Spring break is next week, so I'll be out at Conway lookin' for a few slabs. Y'all be sure to leave me a few, and if anyone gets a chance, I'll have an open seat next week...
Hey guys I'm not going to be able to make it down this weekend either. I'm hoping to get down there one day next week too.
Hope yall have a good trip and catch some gooduns.
Looks like rain on the way and will be raining before I can get there. I think I will pass today. If it was just me wanting to go, rain wouldn't stop me, but I don't think my wife and kids would appreciate getting wet...
I think Dan's official count was three of us.
Millwood Lipripper,
Dan said you were in the pool about the same time I was. I am sorry I didn't get to introduce my self.
Flyfinger,
You should get some kind of reward!! After pulling your boat all of the way in that Krappy (not crappie) weather then breaking your trolling motor. I really felt for you.
I caught just enough red ears to make the trip a semi success. Ole Dan had to talk me into getting out there when I arrived. I just about turned it around. The fish I caught were small males. The sows have not made it shallow yet; or at least they were not bothered by me being there. I plan on doing it again Thursday afternoon;...depnding on what the weather does.

I took my tm to the tm mech. this morning. Hopefully, it won't cost too much. I think I just bent the plate that lets the motor lay flat on the boat, it also makes it stand up straight in the water. The guy I left it with is a real professional. When I went into his shop, it was neat as a pin. No junk laying around, tools all in place on the wall. Even though he was working on a tm he did not have the usual pile of junk on the work bench. I like to do business with a guy like that. BTW he is a Korean Vet. (Army). It was good to see you Dr. Hopefully we can do it again when the weather clears. I'm headed to Florida in May for a month of flats and mangrove fishing.
DP, I saw you out there on my back into Gold Creek. Dan showed me your rig but I wanted to get back into the the area past the old steel bridge. Had heard there were a few biting earlier in there. I must have got there too late. Only saw three caught. My daughter caught one of them (about 11") and that was it. She got cold around 2:00 and we came out. I wasn't trying to be unsociable but she was shaking and lips turning blue. Figured it time to get her back to a warm truck. We will have to hook up at the Greeson day if I get the chance to go.
